Door de naam ‘café’ te veranderen in Gasterie geven de huidige eigenaren aan dat ze meer willen bieden dan een bruin café alleen. Dat komt al direct tot uiting in de sfeervolle en gezellige inrichting van het café. Je stapt een gezellige huiskamer binnen waar je ook een heerlijk hapje kunt eten en waar de gerechten allemaal bereid worden in de eigen keuken. De koffie staat nooit klaar maar wordt kopje voor kopje gezet van vers gemalen Spaanse bonen van het merk Catunambu. Bovendien is er elke dag keuze uit meerdere soorten Limburgse vlaai, vers gebakken door de bakker.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited on Christmas Day. Lovely setting on the banks of the Maas and a real cosy, comfortable feel to the place. Good service and friendly staff. Will definitely go back, probably in the summer when we can sit outside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a social deal for a walking route 6 km and to start with a cappacino and apple pie these were nice .went for 6km walk signs were not clear got help from someone on the way around that pointed out a short cut .got back to the restaurant had to wait for table to be cleared then ordered two ice teas , that he wanted to put down on the table that was full of crumbs so I asked him to clean it which he did , I also mentioned to him that the water they had put out for the dogs was green , it was still green when we left .the soup took 20 mins to come we had onion soup with a piece of bread and aioli which I thought cream cheese would have been better or that the aioli would have been better served with the main course ,which took another 40 minutes to arrive .the salad was nice , but the main course itself ( I had spicy mince with chips ) was very dry and mainly consisted of dry overcooked chips and about two tablespoons of meat .looked pretty though but looks can be deceiving .a shame because we were looking forward to it .
