Héron is (heel even) gevlogen! We zijn op vakantie van 12 juni t/m 28 juni
De basis van Héron Petit Restaurant is puur en eerlijk eten. Zonder tussenkomst van andere partijen tussen ons en de bron. Daarom werken we nauw samen met onze leveranciers: de boer, de tuinder, de wijnleverancier, de veehouder, de kaasmaker, de visser.
We gaan uit van wat van Nederlandse bodem en uit Nederlandse wateren verkrijgbaar en in het seizoen is. Een gedeelte van onze ingrediënten is eigenhandig (op diverse manieren) geconserveerd. Die zijn dus niet afkomstig uit het huidige maar een afgelopen seizoen. Of soms zelfs een ander jaar!
Doordat we op verschillende manieren en door middel van diverse technieken allerlei ingrediënten conserveren, eet je bij Héron dus misschien asperges in de winter en boerenkool in de zomer.
Een ander gedeelte van de ingrediënten in ons menu plukken we zelf. In het wild – ofwel de natuur in en om Utrecht – of een voedselbos. Op deze manier ‘scharrelen’ we ons menu bij elkaar. Net als onze inspiratiebron, de reiger! Zo zie, voel, beleef en proef je bij Héron dat er ontelbaar veel lekkers in de buurt te vinden valt.

Wij hebben plek voor een teamspeler die weet wat ‘in de bediening werken’ écht betekent. Een slimme vogel met oog voor wat gasten nodig hebben, maar die tegelijkertijd ook weet wat collega’s graag willen. Meer weten?

I’ve never tried steamed oysters before & they were just delicious! I would definitely recommend this petite but very fine restaurant in Utrecht

My family and I had a four course surprise menu with part non alcoholic and part wine arrangements.
It was the best meal and dining experience in years for all of us and we are fortunate to visit fine restaurants more than a few times a year.
Each dish was delicately flavoured and highly original, and made from wonderfully selected organic and locally produced ingredients.
The wines and exquisite home made non-alcoholic drinks gave a wonderful contrasting blends and taste experiences. Some of the best wines I ever tasted.
The location and table setting were beautiful and creative. Portions were just right, so we felt well nourished but not overly so. And finally the service and stories accompanying each dish and drink were so passionate authentic and well informed; pure food poetry.
Conclusion: we had a supreme evening and dining experience we will always cherish.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really really good food. If it’s still on the menu when you read this review, order the starter with tomato, you won’t be disappointed. All the rest of the dishes were high in flavor, beautifully presented and tasted really good. Above all, the staff was extremely kind and helpful. I, myself, eat fully vegan. It wasn’t a problem at all to accommodate to my dietary preferences which I truly appreciated. Overall, highly recommended. Great food and excellent service. A must visit!
