β β β β β It's a one star "hotel" with a great location. A friend booked for our group. He's never going to book hotels again for us! ;-)
Price/quality not the best! Quite expensive.
Staircase almost hysterically narrow and steep. More like climbing on all fours - so just figure not being a well trained athlete.....and then figure doing that with a suitcase!!!! If you are not fit and very mobile - forget it!!!!!
No cooling watsoever - except for windows out to the most noisy nightlife in Europe!!
Shared toilet/shower (like the smallest closet you could think of). But it had both warm and cold water.... so there's that! On the third floor: Seven (7!!!) double rooms sharing that one toilet/shower!!!!!
Breakfast ok in extremely hot basement between 9 and 10 am!!! One hour only. Get there on time if you want to sit.
Friendly staff.
Mattresses seemed new and clean. Didn't hear anyone mentioning cleanliness or bedbugs as an issue.
In all fairness, it's an old warn down one star hotel located in the middle of the red-light district with everything just meters away! Many many, bars and restaurants, convenient stores and - well - in the middle of everything you'll expect in a red-light district in Amsterdam! ;-)

β β β β β Great location but perhaps a little too noisy for some (?) as it is in the red light district and there is a lot of foot traffic and this hotel also has a 24 hour bar on the ground floor so take this into account if you plan on staying here. Staff was friendly and helpful and they had a pretty decent breakfast too so we enjoyed our stay here.

β β β β β For the price, I thought it was a fine experience. I can imagine this being a terrible place for picky travelers. Check in is at the bar. If you have heavy suitcases, brace your legs for a workout to go up really small stairs since there are no elevators. Breakfast is awesome and was included with the stay. Restrooms are very small and is shared, so it can get messy from time to time. Showers are oddly shaped but will get the job done. You might hear strange noise at night since the hotel is in the red-light district.

β β β β β If I could give this place negative stars I would. Although I realize staying at a hostel is always risky, at 140 euros per night I expect better. Within 5 minutes of entering our room, we found a HUGE bedbug. We grabbed our belongings and asked for a refund. The guy only refunded us for one night of 2, despite spending all of 6 minute total, including the check-in process. Do not stay here!!!

β β β β β Well, what I should say? Sincerely is the worst accommodation I have my entire life. Is very clean, no doubt about that. The staff is rude, not exceptionally, but rude enough to fell uncomfortable. All spaces are narrow, the toilets and showers are shared. Is very, very much noise during the night, the noise is coming both from inside and outside. Buy some eat plugs otherwise you'll not sleep a minute. And the prices ate very, very expensive compared with the offer. The rooms are looking like a military baracks. More, the key card received doesn't fit to the hotel entrance, all the time must to ask the receptionist/bartender to open the door. The only good thing is the location, I'm the core of the Red light district, surrounded by all the attractions. Finally the recommendation is to search more for another offer.

β β β β β Pros.. staff are extremely friendly and polite
Shower and toilets are cleaned
Cons... well were do I start, I have to be honest
1. My room was running alive with bed bugs I had over 12bites. The hotel didn't seem aware of this problem but gave me a full refund as I could not stay here.
2. No form of air con in the rooms or hallways.
3. Breakfast was very limited only eggs, cheese and ham and bread, last for only an hour.
4. Walls are very thin so you can hear people coming and going.
