β β β β β Lucky area and by a canal. Nice place to come to get a break from the hustle of the center. Watch out for bird poo tho. I've been lucky enough to be dropped on twice.

β β β β β This is a glass memorial that is a reminder of the loss of Jewish life during World War 2. Underneath the broken glass is a container with ashes of the victims. The chiselled words states: "never again Auschwitz."
During the 90's the monument has heen vandalised mulitiple times but been restored again and again.
To pay respect, visitors leave a stone on the memorial.

β β β β β Nice little park with the monument. Favourite with dog owners so expect lots of dogs and some poo.

β β β β β As stated in other reviews, the monument does indeed have a fragile air about it, full of cracks, holes, temporary fixes and muddy footsteps of people wanting to test the glass. It'stronger than it looks, not easy to damage, although over the years some three or four people certainly have made succesful attempts. There's some powerful symbolism there. Never again. Stones on top of the headstone testify of remembrance by the many. Cool monument.

β β β β β Definitely something to see and reflect upon. Many people have been seen walking on the glass monument. There are no clear signs to designate areas. It is in a nice park.

β β β β β Very meaningful. Great place to visit and to recommend in These times where in Europe are raising again populist movements that are already taking us to dangerous decisions and acts.

β β β β β It's unbelievable what happened back then. I honor every project that reminds every generation of that horrible doing of the 3rd Reich to teach them and show them how to deveolpe and evolve without wars or killing each other. RIP Concetration Camp victims.
