Unprofessional customer service, guess you intentionally reduce the number of expat coming to this school. Good luck with such strategy.

THIS SCHOOL IS AN ABSOLUTE NO-GO! The goal of this review is to warn people of the risks they are taking with spending money in this driving school by describing my own experience here. More than one year ago, after reading all the very positive Google reviews of this driving school, I decided to give it a try for obtaining my A-license. As the trial lesson went quite well, I did not have any second thought and I decided to buy a 25-lessons package including the cost of the examinations for 1289€. THIS WAS THE WORST IDEA EVER! And these are the reasons why: - First of all, it is important to know the way Joey's Business works: He won't make you sign any contract, he will just request you to pay a given amount of money on the account number mentioned on his website. So all the rights you have are defined in the Algemene voorwaarden defined on his website. Hence, there will be absolutely no time constraint for Joey to give you driving lessons. And this is something that Joey understands well: You can expect with him a lot of lessons cancelled last-minute because he is sick (and it happens a lot) or because his motorcycles are at the garage for the 100th time. - Also, as a customer, you will always have to be the one to chase Joey to find a time slot for a lesson. You can expect a lot of messages read but left unanswered, where you will have to insist again and again until the point (usually after more than a week waiting) he decides to answer to tell you that the school is busy and that there is no slot available until another two weeks. In summary, you can't expect a pace of more than two lessons a month, and most of the time 1/month is the baseline. On top of that, as the Algemene voorwaarden mention it, do not expect to get your money back if you are not satisfied! In fact, after your trial lesson you have only two weeks within which you can request it back, and beyond that, it's not possible anymore. - The equipment that Joey will provide you with is of really bad quality. The clothes and helmet he provides you with smell extremely bad, like sweat. I suspect them to never go in the washing machine. - The motorcycles are very old kawasaki, which always have something broken. During my second lesson, some black smoke started to come out from the engine and I had to ride with it all the way back to Joey's place. - Do not expect to receive a lot of feedback during the lessons. Joey spends a big amount of time on his phone in his car while you are practicing. You can expect maybe two tips on a two-hours lesson with him. - If Joey is in a bad mood, he can behave in a very unfriendly way for two hours long. As you have no way anymore to request your money back if you are dissatisfied, there is no real reason for him to put any effort. He could be quite often passive-aggressive and there were times where I did not feel safe with him. - As opposed to what it seems when you have a look at his website, rijschool uniek is actually a one-man business so there is absolutely no way to ask for another instructor if you don’t feel comfortable with Joey, since he is the only instructor of his business. - This “driving school” does not even have an office. The address on Google maps is as fake as his name “Joey”. For the lessons you will meet in front of Joey’s house. To sum it up, I never managed to obtain my A-license with this driving school and lost a lot of money. Indeed I only received 6 lessons out of the 25 lessons I paid, neither could I pass my examinations which I also paid there. I started the lessons in November 2019 and had to leave the country in September 2020. Joey told me from the beginning that this was no problem as it could go very fast. However it did not, and after the 3 months of closure due to COVID-19 in March, Joey never answered my texts anymore to arrange for new lessons. I attempted to sue him to get my money back but as I did not have an actual contract with the school, I was unable to do so.

I needed to change my US license (which is not valid in the Netherlands) to a Dutch one so went to Uniek for some lessons. Joey was helpful during the lessons and gave me good tips to drive confidently. He is also a nice guy to chat with during the lessons.
