Coco, our 1 year and 4 month old French bulldog, woke up in the middle of the night stiff from pain and was unable to walk. Immediately we were able to come by at 2:00. A hernia has been diagnosed, she has been given pain medication and we are home. Less than 2 days later an urgent CT scan to confirm the diagnosis and surgery the next day. She was admitted for 3 days and every day a photo with telephone update how she is doing. We are now 4 weeks further and Coco is doing well. Today there is a check-up and we will discuss the rehabilitation process.

My cat was admitted here in 2019 with acute renal failure. Fortunately, they quickly realized that it was not in order and he had to stay. Was operated on here and I was called in advance that it would cost about 2000 euros if we were to have him operated on, including the admission costs (it was the weekend before Christmas). I see a lot of people complaining about the prices, but I don't understand how people don't understand that admission and treatment at an emergency clinic is always much more expensive, because they work longer (+night) shifts, are often specialized and have advanced equipment at home. . Very glad I had it done, because my cat had never had anything in 10 years and is now completely the boy again :) The only two points I have are that it was not clearly indicated to us that my cat had to go on a different diet after the surgery (I found out later) and that payment must be made immediately. I can imagine people getting angry about that. After all, you often come to an emergency clinic not knowing what is going on and what to expect, also in terms of costs. Fortunately, we were able to pay it immediately, but the option to pay in installments would be nice with such amounts.

I originally gave the Spoed-& Verwijskliniek a five star review based on the following experience "We were referred here by our vet for a heart echo for our cat. The staff were very friendly, caring, and took the time to explain the results (complete with a model heart) and the next steps, as well as answer any questions we had. Facilities are clean and modern." However, I have had to change my review based on a more recent experience. About a week and a half ago, late in the evening, our cat's back legs stopped working. Having been to the clinic one week prior, we knew that this was most likely because of a blood clot. We also knew, because of that appointment, that we should rush to the clinic. Which we did at around 22:00. The doors were closed, which surprised us since this was supposed to be a 24/7 clinic. We were even further surprised when ringing the bell resulted in a "do you have an appointment" conversation. Who makes an appointment for an emergency? Is that even possible? We were informed that the staff were involved in a surgery but that we could wait in the waiting area for the vet. We were encouraged to have a coffee or a hot chocolate, the later of which was according to the very bubbly assistant very tasty. Sadly, what we weren't told was what to do if things got worse, how long it would be or even what to do if our cat passed away while we were waiting. In fact, our cat was barely even glanced at. And then we were left to wait for almost an hour and a half. I don't know if you have ever had the experience of waiting in a waiting area with a cat that drags themselves round in circles because their back legs are no longer working. Or who doesn't purr anymore nor get comfort from the owners who are trying their best to comfort their pet. I don't know if you have ever had the feeling of not knowing whether the waiting is doing more harm and if the fastest option would be to call around until you find another clinic and then drive there versus waiting for the vet, who you hope will be there any moment. We had the opportunity to experience both and we wouldn't wish it on anyone. The bubbly assistant did resurface again after an hour and a half, but not to give us an update. Rather to assist a new pet owner who was arriving with a poorly puppy. We pulled her aside afterwards to ask for an update and were told it would just be a little longer and then received an (unrequested) update on the pet who was in surgery. Again, our cat was barely glanced at. After another 30 minutes had passed, someone did finally look properly at our cat. The vet confirmed that a clot had caused the issue and guided us through the rocky road of evaluating options, and ultimately, saying goodbye to a much loved pet. That element of the experience was at least done with empathy, support, and respect. A few tips for the clinic: 1. If one surgery means that you are unable to see any other pets, then you are not an emergency clinic. 2. If someone is bringing their pet to you in the middle of the night, a giggly bubbly personality is not what they want to be met with. 3. Communicate!! We really would have preferred more information related to our pet, the wait, and what to do if the situation changed versus details on the quality of your hot chocolate. 4. Triage is quite important, and that involves actually looking at the "patient" and asking questions about them. While our visit to this clinic for a scheduled referral appointment was a good one, it will be forever overshadowed by the "emergency" experience.

Absolutely would not recommend this place. I went on a Saturday, only because my own vet was closed, with my cat who had breathing problems. (My guess was that it was fluid in the lungs). The first doctor I spoke to did a blood test and said he had an infection of some sort (won't go too far into detail) and didn't hear any fluid in the lungs. She advised me that he had to stay for the night, alright fine, I agreed. She told me it would cost around 600-700 euro. My cat is also on insulin, I told them what kind of brand. They did not give my any insulin. Of course he will be weaker without his normal dose of insulin. I get called for an update by another vet late at night and he informed me that they found fluid in his lungs and managed to get it out. So the first vet completely missed this very important detail of my cat, he suffered there for hours because one vet did not pay close enough attention. The following day I get called by them asking what to do for a treatment plan. Their advise was more tests, well it was more pushed for more test My cat was already 16 years old and had fluid in his lungs that kept coming back. I did no more test. The costs ended up being around 850 euros, way more than was originally told to me. I took my cat home and went to my own vet the next day. There they said there was nothing that could have been done. More tests would only reveal bad news that couldn't be fixed. I had to put my cat down unfortunately but at least my vet was straight up and honest with me. Don't go here if you can avoid it they try to convince you of unnecessary test that cost a lot of money.

I wouldn't hesitate to go for the surgery overthere myself. State of the art equipment and amazing stuff. Starting from USG that was recommended by my own vet ending with surgery - every owner worst nightmare. But I've never seen my dog so calm in the doctor's office. Absolutely amazing approach to the animal but also to me as the owner. And most important - surgery was a success, my Love is all good now. Before surgery I was crying for almost a week - I was so scared for the doggy. Surgeon explained everything to me and when leaving my dog there I had no doubt she was in a good hands. Within few hours nightmare was over, he called me with updates couple of times. Sure it is expensive, but you can wait home for results with a calm hart that the dog has the best care - there is no price for that. Especially if your dog needs a surgery you need a place with a proper equipment to keep him safe. Overall thank you very much for your stunning service!!!!! Please forward my thanks also for the desk stuff. It is really nice that they give an impression that the dog is well known there ?. I told that to Fuga and she was thrilled ?.

Well, they just saved my dog by removing his cancerous spleen. The vets and the surgeons studied the case together before the operation, explained to me the facts and what was advised to be done. They were very careful and did not take unnecessary risks. The night after of his surgery, I received a video of my dog who just woke up and an arm petting him. It was really welcome at this kind of difficult time. The team is very affectionate with him. And I think my dog trusts them, which is not usually the case with other vets. They have an in-house blood lab that gets results very quickly. The team members are very professional and take their jobs very seriously, with a lot of love and consideration. They deserve 6 stars out of 5.
