★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hybrid food place, balancing between a take away 'friture' and a restaurant. Cheap and reasonable food, good food when set out against the prices. You will find families, singles, cabbies etc. No suitable for romance. Easy to make contact with locals. They have 2 restaurants in the same street.

You don't go to Amsterdam for Dutch food, but I had heard before to try Surnamese food while here, and it did not disappoint. We walked quite a bit because it had good reviews, and it was insanely good. Also the prices were very good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the best places to get food in my opinion. It's very affordable, and they have a great selection of Indonesian and Surinamese dishes. Generous portions, and fast serving. If closed, "Nieuw Albina" is in the same street and they follow the same concept.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is mediocre at best, prices are good. However I had a fly in my soup, that was a bit off putting and they did not care. Food did not agree with me and got diarrhea. They accept no credit card and speak bad English

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I usually go to "old" Albina but also like new Albina. I recently visited and noticed an increase in the quality of the food. The restaurant is run by relatives of "old Albina". The concept is identical and the menu is very large containing surniami, cantonese and dutch chinese dishes. Moksi meti is always very good and recommended. Setting is simple but cozy and prices are very reasonable. Would definitely recommend.
