About X BANK Amsterdam
X BANK is a one-of-a-kind concept store and art exhibition space set in the historic bank building of the W Hotel Amsterdam, located between the Singel Canal and the Royal Palace. The 450-square-metre store is a destination for the best in Dutch art, fashion and design and a meeting place for the local creative community.
As a retail space, X BANK presents labels ranging from high-end names Marcel Wanders and and Studio Drift to smaller local names like YOOST and Atelier Reservé. This range of talent is showcased side by side with no distinction, giving emerging Dutch designers a rare opportunity. As customers have a fine eye for unique goods and the stories behind them, the store’s team stimulates this by sharing stories via word of mouth and online.
As an art exhibition and event space, X BANK hosts both small-and large-scale expositions, lectures and gatherings that are open to the public.
Functioning as an art gallery, X BANK provides a new selection of artwork every six to eight weeks with the aim of continually inspiring the creative community. Past exhibitions include photo series, illustrations and fashion installations, with no limits on medium or subject. The active and rotating programming is based on a vision where thought meets creation and creation meets invention.
Always on display: the impressive one-line drawing murals on the store’s staircase and glass wall by Maja Krstic. Additionally, X BANK creates exclusive, surprising collaborations with brands like Daily Paper, David Laport and Loes Vrij. The latest project: four Amsterdam-based designers up-cycled Scotch & Soda SS20 collection to prevent it from going to waste.
The history of the building is embedded in X BANK’s identity.
X BANK is situated within the historic former Kas Bank building, which opened its doors in 1908 as the first concrete building in Amsterdam. Sircle Collection acquired the building in 2015 and set out to dedicate a space that celebrates and brings together the creative community. The result: a stunning showpiece that represents the best in Dutch artistic talent.
The space was designed by Office Winhov and Baranowitz +Kronenberg with this story in mind.

store sells only high end items, so it seems expensive, but even webshops could not offer me a lower price, so id say the value for money is alright :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place, bad and cheap customer service ! Bought engagement rings, couldn’t change for a different size because it was not within the correct days returning days. They send me to the brand to ask to change, luckily they were more helpfull. Concept / Design store service of the lowest class I know but staff act high and mighty. I just call it a overpriced souvenir shop. Not coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the greatest concept store in Amsterdam. I do live here for a while and I am going there every two weeks to get inspiration.
The buyer of this store should get an award for picking extremely un-seen and highly aesthetic pieces of fashion, interior and more - all made in Netherlands and/or dutch designers.
The staff is always really nice and welcoming as well.
I do not want to miss this place and recommend everyone to go there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Part of the W Hotel, X Bank is a fascinating high-end concept store situated on the first floor of premises that formerly housed the landmark Kas bank. When the bank originally opened in 1908, it was the first concrete building in the city. This upmarket store showcases products and talent from leading Dutch artists, artisans, designers and manufacturers, many of whom are based in Amsterdam.
A spiral staircase leads to 700 square meters of floor space with high ceilings and great views of Spuistraat and Dam Square. Here you can find an amazing assortment of men and women's clothing, aftershaves and perfumes, artwork, bicycles, books, ceramics, fashion accessories, fabrics, furniture, jewellery, locally crafted gins and other spirits, photography, vases and unique gifts and souvenirs, representing some 200 brands and makers. Prices range from around 10 Euro to many tens of thousands of Euro and there is something for everyone. Here you will find products from the cream of Dutch designers, many of whom are the envy of the global fashion and design market.
X Bank regularly hosts both small and large scale exhibitions, meet and greet events, occasional sales and lectures. Their collection is constantly updated so that every visit brings something new. Super friendly staff are on hand to assist and provide further background information. One can dine at the adjoining Duchess restaurant with its splendid decor and outstanding menu. The ground floor has a bar and coffee lounge and an ever changing art gallery.
This multi-purpose space serves as an epicentre of Dutch design. It is an exciting place to discover new talent, as well as the very best in Dutch artwork, craftmanship and design.
