Thanks to the rise of MMA, the evolution of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has never been more apparent. As the ultimate testing ground for all martial arts, the need for a no-gi system that was applicable to MMA became even more obvious, especially to 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu founder Eddie Bravo. Unlike traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where the use of the gi for attacks is emphasized, 10th Planet focuses on clinching and overhooks, which, Eddie believed, was more suitable for MMA.

10th Planet has strong applications for MMA, many will use rubber guard to stop strikes to the head, lockdown to recover a smashed half guard and many other positions. I feel that the way the classes are set up allow everyone to define their personal goals whether it is to become a champion, learn self defence or just to have a good time with good people :), whatever my goals are the instructors always help me move towards them.

Training is always fun but it it's also tough and very technical.
