★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Abominable service at the reception.. the lady at the service desk is amazingly snappy and frankly.. abundandly rude.
Such a rude person should not welcome people.
Needless to say, i will bring my business elsewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 3 weeks after opening the bank account, I'm still waiting for their letter with the activation code for my bank card. I've already sent an email to which I didn't get any answer, and also tried calling their number for international clients many times. When they finally answered the phone, no-one could help me. Eventually, the fourth (!) person I talked to via phone told me to come to their main office in person, because they can't solve the issue on any other way.
This all just confirmed my first bad impression of them: something went wrong in their system, and I was registered somehow to their Schiedam office, where I've never been.
How can such amateur mistakes happen? Is this really the efficiency of client service that the biggest commercial bank of the Netherlands is capable of?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely horrendous customer service. I have tried opening an account for over a month now, half the information was never sent to me. Then they booked my appointment in the wrong city and not a single person offers support but rather tells you that it is your fault! If I could give no stars at all I would, definitely not recommending this bank to anyone looking to set up a Dutch bank account.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Im an expat and i foundout from internet that they are the best bank for expats. Hence i decided to signup with them and not in one of the free online banks. My meeting with the bank went smooth and the team was very professional. I was impressed. However the bank account opening amd activation took weeks more than advertised. After account activation my salary was credited by my employer but my debit card didnt arrive yet so i had no access to my money. I had to do multiple followups which is an experience i obviously didnt want. The debit card didnt arrive until so late that i had to go to the branch to do my first rent +deposit payment on 31st or else i wouldve lost that apartment that we finalised and booked a week ago hoping the debit card would arrive in time for the payment deadline. I was charged €16 by the bank for this offline branch transfer although their delay in debit card mailing caused it. But customer service later reversed these charges after discussion. Overall i have no complaints with the bank. They are ok and they are reachable. Except the monthly fee, but that seems to be common in NL. I have lived in several Eu countries and Asia and was never charged a monthly fee for a bank account.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One star is too much. Opening an account is next to impossible and they make it as difficult as they can if you are foreign.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I tried opening a business account here, and was pleased to see that they have one especially suited for doctors, so I was expecting a high level of professionalism. Unfortunately this is not the case. For starters the website states that you will have your account within a week, I think I've had to call about 6 times in the past month to find out what was taking so long, each time I got some stuttering student on the line who couldn't explain anything to me. Never once did I receive an email about the status either. On my final call they told me it would take another 2 weeks (so 6-8 weeks in total!!), at which I got so frustrated I cancelled the order, called the ING who were able to see me the same day and my account was arranged within a few days. Funnily enough the ABN AMRO has decided to ignore my cancellation and sent me my stuff anyways, so not only are they impossible to get into business with, you can't get rid of them either.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Even one star is too much for this bank honestly. They have a horrible customer service. I been waiting more than 2 months to get a card and resolve my issue with it. I came to the bank multiple times to ask for help, but instead of apologizing and trying to help with the issues I was having they were acting rude. They have only one or two advisors to help people which is not enough at all compared to the amount of people waiting to get help. They have no respect for other peoples time and they only do the bare minimum to help. If you have the choice go pick another bank in my opinion instead of getting such a bad service.
