What I miss? Public restrooms /toilets? And maybe more options where to sit and spend time drinking or eating something in this lovely COVERED area...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Albert Heijn's response to COVID on Oct 1st makes shopping LESS safe. I have been shopping for weeks with mask and in a way I do not touch anything I do not buy, taking care of distance.
Now, you are forced upon an unclean shopping cart you first have to touch and then clean. The same shopping bag I had been using to mobile scan and put groceries in directly is put in the cart with no value using the cart. For weeks already, employees just go near you in the store, cart or not. Distancing is a discipline, not enforced by unclean carts.
Then at the selfscan checkout I get a check after which the employee, without gloves or first disinfecting, pulls all my stuff out of my bag. Which I could have done and hold up to scan, but apparently safety is only important if it's inconvenient to the customer, not staff.
Asking AH customer service about the reasons why my own bag isn't good enough and a basket is, I get nothing besides 'policy' - sad times, so I'll do my shopping elsewhere.
