★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Albert Heijn made so much money during the pandemic that you would think they could pay somebody to organize the shopping baskets instead of patronizingly asking customers to return them to the front. No wonder everybody hates them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this AH it's much better stocked than the I guess slightly larger one at Waterlooplein. The layout is great and there are loads of well spaced self checkouts and self scanners to speed up checkout.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So its a nice albert heijn I think everyone login in the Netherlands is familiar with with the standards and quality so for that they get 5 stars.
However the placement of the mandatory baskets next to the escalator is lets say less then ideal. I forgot to take a basket and had to go around and take another one back up. My suggestion would be to place some baskets at the bottom of the escalator for dumb dumbs like me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this place. AH's are excellent places in Amsterdam to resupply food and drinks. They are all over Amsterdam.
Tried to use self checkout but they do not accept Visa ---- disappointed.
Carry a wonderful line of smoothies .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the best Albert Heijn Supermarket around. Prime location, with a to-go counter by the entrance. Downstairs, a modern, large supermarket. Good prices, easy to find stuff. Highly recommend.
