★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The water between the side of Amsterdam Central station and the oposite side ( Amsterdam Noord) is called ""Het Ei" ( the egg) There is a free of charge service to bring you across. Yes its free! And also its a nice ferry trip to see the station and the harbor of Amsterdam. Go for it. You can visit the EYE center on the North side. recommendable! Ohh, yeah, you can take your bike with you, mentioning that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Free ferry rides. Make sure you spend 2 minutes to double check online which ferry you're supposed to take though as for the unknowing tourist it can get a bit confusing. Worst case scenario you lose a few minutes crossing there and back but you still enjoy the view!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When in Amsterdam, Do check the FERRIES in the amazing city. It's a shame that most tourists don't check out the northern part of the city even with the FREE ferry ride. The ferry from Amsterdam Centraal goes to-and-fro 24 hours. YES! you can get a free ride at any time of the day (or night). The ferries are beautiful and you can have an amazing view of the city and the skyline at the night time. I recommend going to the NDSM as well, if you want to see a little bit more out of Amsterdam.
