Plus-Size brides, this is a great place to go! Finally a store that acknowledges that curvy women should be allowed to display their curves in a flattering way rather than hiding them under bulky ballgowns or plain A-lines! After 5(!) stores in Cologne had been lacking a good selection, I had researched in the Netherlands and gotten in touch via email with my very precise ideas and questions. The response was quick and very detailed - I received pictures of all the in-store fit-and-flare dresses in my size (+/- 1 size). Also great: no appointments, walk-ins only! We came on a Saturday morning, five minutes after they had opened, waited a total of five minutes and had a stylist take us to the Plus-Size section, which is it's own store. I picked out six dresses in the fit and flare style, put on the first - and fell in love! Since it was a perfect fit but was above my budget, I asked if I could buy the sample dress rather than order a new one and got a great deal! Stylist was very kind and competent despite the language barrier, and had a great eye for accessories - the first veil she picked ended up being the one I bought. Also: Costs for changes with the in-store seamstresses are capped at 150€, which should be quite a relief for most brides. Wonderful! Edit after the wedding: Problems arose with the fitting, which forces me to deduct one star from the rating. At the final fitting, the dress was still far too big. I was told I must've lost weight - which I hadn't, on the contrary - and my measurements were taken again. Surprise, surprise, I was right - my hips were wider than in the first measurement. Either way, everything was to be adjusted. At pickup and final viewing, the dress was still far too large! And with two weeks to go until the wedding as well as a long drive from Germany, we had to plead and beg for them to make the changes on the same day. First change, we came back at noon: the changes had been made, but now the holes for my arm were so small, that they cut into my flesh. Within minutes, my skin was raw. We had to discuss the changes for 20 minutes and again plead and beg. And honestly, being blamed for faulty changes not fitting my body was a bit annoying. Second change: the dress now looked somewhat different around the arms. A lot of fabric had to be removed, which changed the style slightly. Personally, I didn't care - it was never about that bit for me anyway. All in all: Selecting the dress from the great choices at the store was wonderful. The process of the final fitting less so.

Great people and I left the store with a big smile on my face :) The employees in the Outlet Store was super helpful and I found a nice dress within my budget in an hour. Thank you guys. I highly recommend this store for all brides.

Traumatic experience for my fiancΓ©e My fiancΓ©e just got her dress from the store. The purchase process at Ann & John Bruidsmode was started last year and she loved the show model dress. At that time she made clear that the dress would be needed 1 week prior to our trip to our home country for the marriage. I guess that was the best and peak point of the experience, now comes the worst part. After the first try in beginning of January the dress was way too large, which would be ok since there would be other opportunities for addressing the size. Fast-forward to today 27-January, there was absolutely no changes in the dress in the whole month. The lady that did the final adjustments was just pretending to work, while being very rude and dismissive and did not pay attention at all to the remarks and complaints of my fiancΓ©e. All suggestion were replied with this is the way the dress is. My fiancΓ©e argued she would rather go with the show model since it was well made. It is heart breaking that she can't stop crying and is very stressed out. We would still have tomorrow morning for trying to adjust it again at Ann&John, but she does not want even try to bring the dress again tomorrow for more adjustments. We will try to salvage the dress in the remaining time we have in our home country. I had read all the reviews, but now in hindsight the 1 star reviews all showed that Ann&John can be very rude, dismissive and sometimes don't care about the customer. That was exactly our experience. There will surely have many excuses from their part for this review, but as soon my fiancee is less upset and ready to share some pictures you will give us reason and hopefully stay away from this place.

Good place to go if you are looking for your wedding dress. A lot of possibilities to choose from. Helpful personal, but at some moments it would be nice to get suggestion what might look better on specific person's body a little quicker than trying several same type dresses. They also tailor your dress to your size after you have made a purchase, so need to look for seamstress afterwards. Overall good experience.
