REPULSIVE GOLD DIGGING INSTITUTION This institution is repulsive, continues to attract international students despite not having any housing offers. Only international students outside of the EU have guaranteed housing, the rest of the EU are left on their own. I wonder why, maybe because internationals outside pay a much higher tuition??! This housing crisis has been going on for years and despite the warnings the university has done nothing about it. The only solution they offered is basically none, most housing is through the private market. Most internationals are not aware or informed of what the process is like but housing is through cooptation in which constant DUTCH ONLY or NO INTERNATIONALS is posted. Dutch students will always have a preference for other dutch nationals because the student life is so different and this is understandable. I am not critizing Dutch student life, I believe everyone should have a choice in how their housing environment. University does nothing to prevent this because their main logo is to wash their hands. This prospective year has been even worse, thousands of students signed a petition for the university board to do something. Thankfully the board has own up to the mistakes and has informed students to not go to this university if they cannot find accommodation. However, this does not solve the issue for students who are already enrolled in the university for several years. What will they do? Move back to their countries and be left without a degree. This issue is not only for housing but studies in general. Internships again are advertised as having connections with other countries. BUT the student itself has to be the one to find a the placement (WHICH IS DIFFICULT) and we also have to find housing ourselves. Similar trend of letting the students be on their own.
