★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Contemporary nice place with a good heart at the essence of it. I went here with some work colleagues on a Wednesday evening. It seems nothing out of the ordinary to be able to do this, but it is in this (newly built) area of de Zuidas at the RAI/Boelelaan side. Basically it's in the bit of no man's land (it used to consist out of offices only) between the World Trade Centre/Station Zuid side of the Zuidas towards the RAI/Europaboulevard. Bar Valdi however breathes Amsterdam urban coolness, friendliness AND professionalism in running the bar. The normal bar menu consists of proper standard executions of bar bites (proper bitterballen), the special menu (not posted online) consisted out of food made by refugees. This warms my heart. And my tummy, because the shaksuka was out of this world DELICIOUS and the fresh bread with sesame seeds was equally YUMMY. (Think using the bread to soak up the sauce from the shaksuka type of yummy.) And, they have several alcohol-free beer options, which was very handy for me. In short, if you're looking for a nice relaxed place to hang, this could be it. There might be some students about, but the place is big enough outside and inside to co-exist.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Though only the terrace was open, it was covered, heated and well lit. A lovely atmosphere, tasty snacks, a reasonable selection of drinks and a live band (duo) made the experience very pleasant.
Only drawback was the variable speed of service. Sometimes the order was fulfilled quickly, e.g. the snacks were served promptly and piping hot, but when a single drink was ordered outside of our group order, it took three reminders before it turned up... this happened twice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place close to the office buildings to have a drink and snack with your colleagues or customer. Even when the weather isn't that good you're still able to sit outside, covered and with a heater next to your table.
The sweet potato fries and the spicy chicken snacks are awesome here. Now we are all able to work from the office, we need to visit the bar Valdi on a regular base again.
Further they have some good food for dinner and lunch also. Worth a visit when you're in the neighborhood as the service is great and the employees are very friendly.
