Basecamp Tiny House Eco Resort I Basecamp IJmuiden - Basecamp-ijmuiden.nl

Not cheap, but clearly something special and unique. Sleeping in Tiny Houses brings you back to what you really need and away from the wave of modern consumer society. The Basecamp Area has its own flair and maybe the most helpful staff I ever experienced central Europe.

The idea is good but expandable! Pros: - nice little houses in different sizes with enough space for everyone - enough parking space (unfortunately you have to pay extra for parking) - close to the beach - very friendly customer service - good for people which prefer to just relax on the beach (IJmuiden is very boring) - nice restaurants at the beach Cons: - we lived 5 days on a site without telling us upfront and we paid full prize (not that nice if you wanna have a relaxed vacation) - we thought the camp would be closer to the sea. To go into the water you need to walk around 10 min - not the nicest area (you see the big factories of IJmuiden from almost everywhere)

We stayed for two nights in the Tiny sun deck house and loved it! We had a great time and it’s just a few walking minutes from the beach. The house was very clean, we felt very comfortable. We can definitely recommend and will come back!

Very chill vibe (camp meets glam meets sustainable), nice sea-wind blowing, romantic sound of surf, different little houses nicely spread over site and nice guests camping! Staff is supernice and helpful, houses (incl beds) are vey comfortable (also nicely decorated)! Very good bikes to rent. BaseCamp is still in development, so eager to know the next phase!!!

Beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds, great attention to detail, good facilities. The only reason for marking it down 1 star, was that our house, Number 17, was located next to the wind turbine which kept us awake. When the wind gusts it makes quite a loud intermittent hum/vibration in the house.

Generally, a nice place to relax and the house was like expected. The photos show exactly what you get. Sadly, the bed linen were dirty when I arrived and quite a lot of construction work was going on in the camp. I guess this place will be worth 5 stars in the future, if the team can get a better understanding of service and provide a more pleasant stay.

We stayed here for only 3 days and 3 nights, we wish it would have been longer and during a bit warmer weather. Due to some electrical issues, we could not stay in our reserved tiny house, however, we were upgraded. It was a blessing in disguise even if my husband could not take advantage of the rooftop terrace for photos. Bart made our accommodation even better, without hesitation and always with a smile he upgraded us, made sure we settled in well and checked in on us during our stay. We hope to return in a year or so and we recommend staying here, especially if you want access to the beach. Restaurant tips: Kinko Japanese Restaurant, Fish & Seafood Waasdorp, Indian Tandoori King Ijmuiden, Boulangerie Oscar.

I had a really great time staying 2 nights. It was very stormy weather which in addition made it a unique experience. The beach is not far and I had a chance to disconnect from everyday life. The houses look great and having your own place is a way better experience than staying in a hotel. Staying some nights is also great if you're thinking about getting one of those cabins for yourself either as a vacation home or permanent residence. Personnel on site was very friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome. The booking, checkin/checkout and billing process was easy. One thing though, by "hotel standard" I think the house could have been a bit cleaner. The coffee maker had dirty water in it as well as the baking tray. Some of the surfaces needed a small wipe but besides that everything was perfect
