★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Ruins was just okay. When I came after 20km bicycling to see them they were closed. I don't even know if they are open anytime. The road to the destination was nice, I really enjoyed it. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Once again I visited Batenburg from my home in Massachusetts USA. My last name Batenburg is preceeded by van. My understanding is "van" means "from". I have two sons that my Wife, Deb and I adopted and I wish they knew more about their ancestors. The only restuarant in Batenburg is great. The owners remember me when I visit, usually once a year. I hope you have a place like this that you can connect with. It is a lovely small village of very Dutch friendly people. The picture I believe is from the 20 ot 30's. Not mine.
