★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sinds een paar weken kom ik weer af en toe in de bieb in het centrum. De oude vertrouwde sfeer is er niet meer te ervaren helaas. De Corona crisis heeft ook hier grote gevolgen. Nu maximaal 6 personen aan de leestafel. Dat was vaak twee keer zo veel tussen 15.00 en 16.00 uur op doordeweekse dagen. Ja, wel eens erg druk en luide gesprekken, discussies, die niet iedereen waardeerden, zowel bezoekers als personeel, maar die toch ook toonde hoe belangrijk deze plek in het hart van Alkmaar wel is voor velen! Laten we hopen dat het weer over enige tijd gezellig druk mag zijn!

 Since a few weeks I occasionally come back to the library in the center. The old familiar atmosphere can no longer be experienced unfortunately. The Corona crisis also has major consequences here. Now maximum 6 people at the reading table. That was often twice as much between 3pm and 4pm on weekdays. Yes, sometimes very busy and loud conversations, discussions, which not everyone appreciated, both visitors and staff, but which also showed how important this place in the heart of Alkmaar is for many! Let's hope that the weather will be pleasantly busy in some time!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prima bibliotheek! Een aardig aanbod van boeken, cd's en dvd's en genoeg ruimte voor studenten. Het café dat in hetzelfde pand zit is en leuke toevoeging
Great library! A nice selection of books, CDs and DVDs and enough space for students. The cafe that is located in the same building is a nice addition

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prima bibliotheek. Heeft stilteruimtes maar die zijn al dagen dicht en zodra er een basisschool klas binnenkomt, worden in de stilteruimtes jassen neergelegd. Waarom die ruimte dan niet openen voor mensen die de basisschool kinderen niet willen horen?
Great library. Has quiet rooms, but they have been closed for days and as soon as a primary school class enters, coats are left in the quiet rooms. Why not open that space for people who don't want to hear primary school children?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fijne bibliotheek. Groot assortiment en ruim, met aantal plekken waar goed kan werken/ studeren.
Gaan hier vaak heen met de kinderen. Boven, bij de kinderboeken is het erg gezellig. Ze kunnen er lekker zitten en spelen. Zonet ook ontdekt dat er donderdagochtend voorlezen/ zingen/ knutselen is, dat gaan we zeker vaker doen!
Verder erg vriendelijk personeel en ook nog een lekker koffietentje erin, top dus!
Nice library. Wide range and spacious, with a number of places where you can work/study well.
Go here often with the kids. Upstairs, the children's books are very cozy. They can sit and play there. Just discovered that there is reading / singing / crafts on Thursday morning, we will definitely do that more often!
Furthermore, very friendly staff and also a nice coffee shop in it, so great!
