Dit geeft 2x meer CO2 emissie dan stook op aardgas en 15% meer dan bij steenkool. De energiebehoefte van Nederland is enorm en zal snel tot tekorten in resthout tot gevolg hebben. Daarna is er alleen maar import van hout uit USA, Canada en de balkan landen mogelijk met als gevolg enorme kaalslag van bossen in die landen.
