★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Is een streek met huizen en boederijen aan de vaart. Boederijen zijn de meesten niet meer als agrarische sector. Zijn omgebouwd tot grote woningen. Aantal zijn als tweede huis bewoond. Maar aantal loopt terug in vergelijking met ongeveer jaar 1980-1990. De vaart had vroeger de functie van verbindingsroute naar andere dorpen, o.a Langweer en Terhorne. Het viel onder de gemeente Doniawerstal. Broek was een doodlopende weg. Na ruilverkaveling (ongeveer in jaar 1976) was pas via de weg verbinding met o.a. Gongarijp en Akmarijp.
 Is a region with houses and farms on the canal. Most farms are no longer agricultural. Have been converted into large houses. Some are occupied as second homes. But the number is falling compared to around 1980-1990. The canal used to function as a connecting route to other villages, including Langweer and Terhorne. It fell under the municipality of Doniawerstal. Broek was a dead end. After land consolidation (approximately in the year 1976), there was only a road connection with, among others, Gongarijp and Akmarijp.
