Worst car rental I ever had. They charged 170 euros for the smallest scratch, invisible to the naked eye, that I know for sure was there before. They also charged 50 euros just for passing on my address. From reading other reviews, I see this is a pattern, so beware. I will never use Avis/Budget again. They were dishonest from the very first moment.

Their cookie cutter service was fine, but anything above and beyond a car rental agreement leaves much to be desired. My wife and I rented a car after returning it, the next day, we realized that we had left our passports in the car. We couldn’t find a direct line to the office, had to call the Amsterdam call center. They said they could only email them. After not hearing anything I walked to the office to find out the car had been rented out for the day and would be back before 6 pm. They told me to come back at 5:30, told me they would call on its return. We ended up hearing nothing all day and walked there at 5:15 only to see the car about to pull out of the drive with a family in it. I knocked on the window and they let me look in the car, I found them immediately but the woman had said β€œgood thing you found them, we are headed out of country with the car for 10 days”. I know that my passport loss is my fault but had I not followed up and left this to budget my passports would be long gone and we would be paying for new ones just because they couldn’t follow up on a simple request.

Worst of the worst company. I would recommend no one to rent a car here. They say they have multiple offices in Amsterdam, but when you arrive they are closed and you have to pick up your car at a different place. When you call them they say: You should come here, or you don't have a car. Terrible service.

I had a great experience renting a car here. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I requested a car with wifi and they didn't have one available, so that was disappointing. It was the day after a holiday, so that may have been a factor. Other than that, it was an easy check in and drop off. I dropped it off after hours, so I had to park it on one of the street options they give you. I put the keys in the drop box with a note on the car's location and that was it. There were several Uber's in that area, so I was able to have someone pick me up quickly and take me back to where I stayed. Overall, a very positive experience.

Rented 3-4 times with Enterprise in Amsterdam, first time now with Avis/Budget and never again from this office! Dropped off the car on the street parking outside office hours, they did the check-out verifications by themselves next morning and suddenly I got an extra charge totalling 170 Euro. No invoice or explanation emailed with this charge, even though they are obviously able to generate automatic emails (you get one right after pick-up). Luckily I live in Amsterdam, so went the second day to check where did the extra charge occur as nobody was picking up the phone! One 1-2cm scratch on a horizontal surface on the back bumper that I'm very sure was not there when I left the car. I was asked to wait until they checked it first again and only afterwards I was allowed to approach the car (sounded a bit weird) to see the small scratch. Afterwards my extra charge was reduced from 170 Euro to 100 Euro (out of which btw 60+ Euro is just an administration fee), which sounds like a random favour made to me, but I still consider it just a waste of money and I have no trust in the honesty of these people. Seeing other reviews, I recommend to avoid booking with them especially if you have to drop the car outside office hours and leave the city afterwards. Be there on the checkout verification or just go for more transparent people like the guys at Enterprise.

The service I had at the shop was terrible, checkout time was not the same agency promised and I had to leave the car parked at the street. Then they found a "damage" that I am absolutely sure I didn't do and charged an insane extra fee, no pictures were shared and the first response from Customer Service came weeks and weeks later. I will never, never, anymore rent a car with Avis or Budget. Stay away from this company and this office!

The cars are fair price/quality and clean, yet the service can be much improved: Even though with repeated rentals, the process of finally having the car and keys can take forever (up to 45 minutes! with other customers in line and only one counter open). Also watch out for the return: once the station is closed, you will have to park the car in the surroundings (be lucky to find a spot) and pay 6,00 Euros per hour for street parking until the agency is open again and sends one of their employees to get the car into their garage. What a hassle and hidden extra costs.

3 weeks after cancelling within the required time, I still haven't seen my deposit returned. Wrote them 1 week ago and automated response email says the wait can be 2-3 weeks. No customer service.
