Before you know it, it will be packed with tourists, leaving no room for us locals to crawl in the DJ-booth, playing obscure rock and 80's tunes or to do karaoke on the last Sunday of the month, enjoying the fantastic selection of whiskeys and ginger beers... Before you know it those tourists think they're entitled ordening White Russians too, like I am... No, better to keep this place the best kept secret of Amsterdam.

We had good and big plate of surinam eh .. --> indonesian food (mixed meat and rice) for a very friendly price. Though not always available as i understood. I loved that the terrace is just outside the crowded walking routes so you can sit and move about quite undisturbed

The cozy and intimate bar has an amazing variety of drinks, great coffee and house wines that are hard to rival. All at a reasonable price. Lovingly prepared gin and tonic is a house speciality with some 30 leading brands to choose from and an equally impressive choice of tonic waters. Beer drinkers are also spoilt for choice. The music played here is of great quality as the owners have been involved with the city's music scene for many years. There is a DJ corner at the front of the bar which is often manned by locals. Occasionally, there is live music, as well as karaoke and pub quiz nights. There is a heated terrace at in front of the bar. Most Thursdays, there is a delicious selection of authentic Indonesian food on offer, at a fraction of the cost of a restaurant equivalent. A warm welcome and friendly staff make Café Diep the perfect choice for a great night out.
