Café De Kardinaal, gelegen in hartje Amby, nabij het centrum en station van Maastricht. Ook te bereiken vanaf de snelweg A2-A79. Daarnaast centraal gelegen in een mooi wandelgebied. Een heerlijkheid om te vertoeven, zakelijk of privé. Wij beschikken over een ruime parkeergelegenheid, een terras, borrel café en een ruime zaal. Bezoek ook onze brasserie voor een kleine lunch en een klein diner a la carte, hieronder vindt u het menu. U kunt bij De Kardinaal ook terecht voor uitgebreide wandelroutebeschrijvingen met een lekkere kop koffie of een heerlijke tapas plank. Onze locatie biedt daarnaast ook andere mogelijkheden, namelijk personeelsborrels, personeelsuitjes, zakelijke lunches of familieaangelegenheden zoals koffietafels, reünies en verjaardagen.

Onderweg naar het restaurant wordt ik gebeld en wordt mij door een medewerker verteld dat er helaas geen plaats is voor mijn reeds betaalde reservering.. Verder wordt er geen enkel excuus of een oplossing geboden. Er wordt mij enkel gezegd dit ik in de loop van de week mijn betaling kan ter verwachten... Erg klantonvriendelijk..
Reserved online via Social deal. On my way to the restaurant I am called and told by an employee that unfortunately there is no room for my already paid reservation. Furthermore, no excuse or solution is offered. I am only told that I can expect my payment in the course of the week... Very customer unfriendly..

Het personeel was stuk voor stuk allemaal hartstikke gastvrij en vriendelijk.
Het eten was super, zag er tip top uit en smaakte heerlijk.
Door de corona hebben ze het concept aangepast en de hele zaak gerestyled. De "voorheen" saaie zaaltjes zijn omgebouwd tot een ontzettende gezellige ruimte die voor héél veel verschillende doeleinden kan worden gebruikt. Terwijl wij aan het lunchen waren was in de andere ruimte een baby shower.
In het super mooie gemoderniseerd café kun je uiteraard ook terecht voor een heerlijk vers getapt speciaal biertje of een lekkere cappuccino.
Als je lekker bent gaan wandelen of fietsen is dit een heerlijke plaats om lekker te ontspannen onder het genot van een heerlijk hapje of drankje.
Zowel van binnen als van buiten op het terras straalt het café een en al rust en gezelligheid uit, en past het helemaal bij de tijd van nu.
Ik raad café de Kardinaal dan ook absoluut aan, heb geen enkele op of aanmerking over deze zaak ( vele horeca gelegenheden zouden zich een voorbeeld kunnen nemen aan het personeel wat hier werkt).
Ze houden zich ook héél goed aan de corona richtlijnen zoals ze door de overheid zijn opgesteld.
Je kunt er ook terecht voor koffietafels, feesten en partijen.
Het café ligt in de kern van Amby direct naast de kerk.
Als je met de auto komt kun je op de naastgelegen parkeerplaats gratis je auto parkeren.

The staff were all very hospitable and friendly.
The food was great, looked great and tasted delicious.
Because of the corona, they have adapted the concept and restyled the whole thing. The "previously" boring rooms have been converted into a very cozy space that can be used for many different purposes. While we were having lunch there was a baby shower in the other room.
In the super nice modernized café you can of course also enjoy a delicious freshly tapped special beer or a tasty cappuccino.
If you have gone hiking or cycling, this is a wonderful place to relax while enjoying a delicious snack or drink.
Both from the inside and the outside on the terrace, the café radiates peace and cosiness, and is perfectly suited to the times of today.
I absolutely recommend café de Kardinaal, I have no comments on or comments about this case (many catering establishments could take an example from the staff who work here).
They also adhere very well to the corona guidelines as drawn up by the government.
You can also go there for coffee tables, parties and parties.
The cafe is in the core of Amby right next to the church.
If you come by car, you can park your car for free in the adjacent parking lot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely place to start and finish a nice 10km hike through the lovely woods and hills of Maastricht. The owner provides a very detailed tour map with background info. A nice Rose wine to comfort the sore legs and a giant tapas plate makes it a brilliant afternoon spent.
