De boerderij van Familie van Tol is al honderden jaren in het bezit van de familie. Tot 2008 heeft de boerderij gedraaid met melkkoeien. Ondanks dat er geen boerenbedrijf meer is, zijn er nog vele dieren te vinden op de camping. Koeien, paarden, kippen en geiten. Het is een gezellige beestenboel op Camping de Freek in Hoogmade.

Toen ik er was waren er wel veel kinderen en daarvan waren er ook een paar die vervelend deden met waterpistolen. Maar dat is natuurlijk niet altijd zo daar. Very beautiful place near small water. Good place to walk around for a bit. Seems like a camping where a lot of children will be too, so not a really calm place. Very nice that it is located on a river. Nice place to take a walk. When I was there there were a lot of children and there were also a few who were annoying with water pistols. But that is of course not always the case there. Very beautiful place near small water. Let op de zogenaamde trekkershut wordt niet voor een dag verhuurd (min 2). Is wat ongebruikelijk voor een trekkershut, staat ook niet op de site. Neat and quiet campsite with clean sanitary facilities, not much to do but great for a night during our bike ride. P. S. Please note that the so-called hiker's cabin is not rented out for a day (minus 2). Is somewhat unusual for a hiker's cabin, it is also not on the site.

S	Sandra S on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Schöner, ruhiger Campingplatz mit sauberen Sanitäranlagen. Schade nur, dass man nicht nur zum Duschen sondern auch zum Abwaschen immer Geld in der Tasche habe muss. Hier gibt es auch die Möglichkeit, einen eigenen Bootsliegeplatz zu bekommen, nur keine Slipanlage vor Ort, aber ein Schlauchboot bekommt man mühelos rein und raus. Sehr freundliche Inhaber. Toller Ausgangspunkt für Rad- und Bootstouren., z.B. nach Leiden oder Alphen aan den Rijn. Nice, quiet campsite with clean sanitary facilities. It's just a shame that you always have to have money in your pocket not only for showering but also for washing up. There is also the possibility of getting your own boat berth, just no slipway on site, but you can easily get a dinghy in and out. Very friendly owner. Great starting point for bike and boat tours, e.g. to Leiden or Alphen aan den Rijn.
S	Simon Mocking on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uitstekend. De haven doemde ineens voor ons op toen we door een bocht voeren. We hebben een prima aanlegplaats en besloten 3 dagen te blijven. Ook het liggeld is voor iedere lengte € 15,-- per dag inclusief water en stroom. Zeer redelijk. Excellent. The harbor suddenly loomed in front of us as we rounded a bend. We have a great mooring and decided to stay for 3 days. The mooring fee is also € 15 per day for each length, including water and electricity. Very reasonable.
g	gustaaf modderman on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wij waren hier 1 nacht op wandelvakantie. Vriendelijke ontvangst, picknicktafel werd op de schouder voor ons meegenomen naar de plek. Positief: ruime plaatsen/ vlak terrein/ schoon, eenvoudig sanitair/ leuk jachthaventje. Minpuntjes: geen recreatieruimte, fietsenstalling, koelkast en ook geen SVRcamping meer....dan mis je echt klandizie! We were here for 1 night on a walking holiday. Friendly welcome, picnic table was carried on the shoulder for us to the spot. Positive: spacious pitches / flat terrain / clean, simple sanitary facilities / nice marina. Minuses: no recreation room, bicycle shed, refrigerator and no more SVRcamping.... then you really miss out on business!

T	Tom Gillson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great site run by a farming family. Lovely river borders the site and it is truly tranquil. Coop and a couple of good restaurants 10 mins walk away and regular buses to Leiden. Access may be tricky for larger motorhomes as access is over a smallish wooden bridge. Toilets and showers are immaculately maintained. Basic camping at it's best.
