My Fiancé and I were in NYC just before the Xmas break and we were looking for a good tacos place. Together with a friend, all 3 of us arrived at Casa del Toro since it had great reviews and the price was ok. Initially we thought about ordering just a glass of Margarita which was priced at $14. Not too bad considering that it is NYC, however here comes the scam... the waitress named Christina offered us a pitcher. The pitcher was half full of ice, and literally gave us 3.5 Margarita glasses. since it was not enough, we ordered another pitcher; to our surprise each pitcher was $75!!! $150 for two Margarita pitchers which gave us 7 glasses total. If we had ordered 7 glasses of margarita we would had paid $98 in total and not $150. Another surprise was that the price for the pitcher was not in the menu initially. So when we went back to the menu we couldn't check the prices, because we were shocked on the costs, for a place where each taco was $4!. So I called up the manager and his answer was "this is our price, and next time you should ask the waitress the price before ordering". take a look at the pictures of the check, and see how we were charged.

I think it’s better to remove cocktails from the menu if you don’t have a professional bartender. The waitress (with dark hair) was very welcoming and friendly. She did her best to serve us well and make us feel welcome. The manager or the owner with curly hair seemed very strange to us. Was standing outside and smoking or drinking coffee. Couldn’t see him helping the staff although the restaurant was fully packed and understaffed. People were waiting for their food for a long time. Usually I would give one star less for service but I know what horeca is going through. All hotels and restaurants are understaffed. The waitresses (also the young girl with blonde hair) were very nice and friendly but the manager really surprised us and with his chill walking around and smoking. We asked for drinks menu and then he came and took it from us even without asking what we want to order. When he brought the receipt he asked us to check if it’s correct and if everything is ok for several times.?
