The statue is impressive and in my opinion interesting. I could not find any information about it so the fantasy can indulge in interpretations.

Z wysokością 8,5 metra Cascade autorstwa Joepa van Lieshouta z pewnością przykuwa uwagę w Rotterdamie.
Rzeźba autorstwa Atelier Van Lieshout składa się z wieży z osiemnastu baryłek ropy. Są one połączone ze sobą przez około dwadzieścia postaci ludzkich, które wspinają się i opadają. Razem tworzą jakby lepką masę, jak olej kapiący z beczek. Wycieka ropa w postaci ludzi. Ludzie są ze sobą połączeni. Gigantyczna rzeźba nawiązuje także do zapasów surowców, kryzysów gospodarczych i bankructwa konsumpcjonizmu.
Interpretacje, które dodatkowo uwydatnia położenie rzeźby na skrzyżowaniu Coolsingel i Blaak, w samym środku komercyjnego i finansowego serca Rotterdamu.

With a height of 8.5 meters, the Cascade by Joep van Lieshout is sure to catch the eye in Rotterdam.
The sculpture by Atelier Van Lieshout consists of a tower of eighteen barrels of oil. They are connected to each other by about twenty human figures that climb and descend. Together they form a kind of sticky mass, like oil dripping from barrels. Pus is leaking in the form of people. People are connected to each other. The gigantic sculpture also refers to the stocks of raw materials, economic crises and the bankruptcy of consumerism.
Interpretations that further enhance the location of the sculpture at the intersection of Coolsingel and Blaak, in the middle of Rotterdam's commercial and financial heart.
The cascade is made of dark green polyester and stands on a pedestal so as not to get lost in the visual noise.
