★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful house in a quiet village close to Purmerend town. The village is close to the main road (N244) but we could hear no sound but the voices of water birds from nearby fields an channels. Two double rooms occupy the 1st floor of the house. There is common toilet and bathroom on this floor. There is easy access to tea and coffee making facilities.
The host is a very nice and helpful man. We enjoyed talking to him during the breakfast time (good and tasty breakfasts which he prepared for us every morning). We couldnt meet the lady of the house because of her health problems, but we could talk to her on the phone before our comming and also we could admire her beautiful sculptures in the house and garden.
There is an easy access by car to the Purmerend town centre with nice restaurants (we tried the 'La Casa' restaurant with Italin cuisine and we can recommend it). In no more than 20-30 minutes we could reach the Amsterdam Nord tube (metro) station with it's own P+R parking and a lot of other parkings around (in case of the 1st one being full).
