 Nice winding river in a beautiful walking and cycling environment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prachtig gebied met meanderend riviertje. Veel groen, en een rivier die z'n weg zoekt door de zanderige bodem. Soms staat het water hoog, zoals in begin 2011. Fantastisch wandelgebied, met of zonder hond. Fietsen is ook leuk, en voor de kinderen pootje baden. Daarna een drankje op het terras.
Beautiful area with a meandering river. Lots of greenery, and a river that finds its way through the sandy bottom. Sometimes the water is high, like in early 2011. Great walking area, with or without a dog. Cycling is fun too, and paddling for the kids. Then a drink on the terrace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ En van de mooiste stukjes natuur in Twente. Bossen, heide, zandverstuivingen, en de rivier de Dinkel die hier doorheen meandert. Wel vrij drukbezocht door nabijgelegen camping en paviljoen.
And the most beautiful parts of nature in Twente. Forests, heathland, sand drifts, and the river Dinkel that meanders through this. Quite crowded by nearby campsite and pavilion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Is en blijft een van de mooiste stukjes Twente. Op verschillende plekken kun je een eind langs het riviertje lopen. Meester van Deinze heeft hem niet voor niks in het zonnetje (in het Twents volkslied) gezet. Mooi te lezen dat er nu ook grensoverschrijdend aan natuurherstel gewerkt gaat worden: in het Duitse deel kan het water op termijn ook weer vrijuit meanderen en zal de betonnen (!) rivierbodembeplating (!!) worden weggehaald.
Is and remains one of the most beautiful parts of Twente. You can walk along the river in various places. Meester van Deinze has put him in the spotlight (in the Twente anthem) for a reason. It is nice to read that nature restoration will now also be carried out across borders: in the German part the water can also meander freely over time and the concrete (!) River bottom plating (!!) will be removed.
