โ โ โ โ โ Zeer mooi en waard om die extra kilometer te maken. Let op geen parkeerplek op het molenerf voor auto's. En laatste meters alleen bereikbaar via het jaagpad. Dus per paard, fiets, lopend, boot of trekschuit.
Very nice and worth the extra mile. Note no parking space at the mill yard for cars. And last meters can only be reached via the towpath. So by horse, bicycle, walking, boat or barge.

It is a cozy playground / petting zoo. It is a good place to go with young children and they have the opportunity to come into contact with various kinds of animals. And there is good supervision of the people who work there. So strange figures are immediately noticed and watched. It seems like a great idea.!

โ โ โ โ โ Erg leuk !
Very nice ! Sawing wood as it used to be, beautiful! Deep respect for the old days where man was terribly inventive. Saw planks with the power of the wind! This old mill does that completely and that is nice to see. Beautiful place so you pass it because you are centuries back in time.

A tourist and recreational area close to the center of the Dutch city of Amsterdam, where all the necessities of psychological and physical comfort are available, in addition to its pleasant climate, tourist water channels and the practice of boating.

โ โ โ โ โ This might be a long story. We had heard about this windmill from online research and it seemed like an awesome idea to bike to it from our Airbnb. First off, our bikes were in sad condition so that added to the fun. We were using Google Maps for navigation but it ended up getting extremely confused at a crucial turn. Also, let me say, it is not easy to navigate to a place you don't know, on a bike, when the bike paths in the Netherlands are as official as the actual roads.
The crucial turn is when you have to veer off the official bike path onto a section that has signs with a picture of a bike crossed out. We assumed this meant no bikes allowed, but after passing this turn and upon seeing numerous people ride bikes (even motorcycles) down the path, we decided to scope it out. The windmill is pretty far down it, through a fairly large residential area that gives the appearance of being out in the country. When you get to the windmill, there's a little footpath that goes off the road and a place to park your bikes. It almost looks like someone's house but we saw another person walking on the path and they didn't say anything, so it appeared to be a walking path that went next to the windmill. It continued on past the windmill but we're didn't have time to explore it further. It's all very picturesque. Also, very windy!
It was quite the adventure but I'm super glad we did it. For us, on such a short visit to the Netherlands, it was fun to get a quick glimpse of another side of the country, since we didn't have time for any day trips. If you're staying in Haarlem and like windmills, I would definitely recommend making it a point to visit!
