Afgelopen voorjaar een Van Nicholas Rowtag gravelbike aangeschaft via De Fietsenmaker. Daarvoor een uitgebreide bikefitting ondergaan waarbij de verschillende opties en maatvoering van de fiets uitvoerig besproken. Enthousiast meedenkend en duidelijk verstand van zaken, waarbij behoed voor aanschaf van een verkeerde maat crank/stuurpen voor mijn beoogd gebruik. Gedurende het productieproces frequent op de hoogte gehouden over voortgang en verwachte einddatum. Bij ophalen perfect afgesteld (zeker niet vanzelfsprekend).
Na inrijden bleek de zadelpen toch te kort voor mijn smaak. Tot 2 maal toe kostenloos (!) een nieuwe zadelpen gemonteerd gekregen.
Zelden een fietsenmaker gezien met opvallende kennis van zaken en die service zo serieus neemt. Met kop en schouders boven de verschillende fietsenmakers die ik tot dusver heb mogen meemaken. Grote aanrader!

Purchased a Van Nicholas Rowtag gravel bike last spring through De Fietsenmaker. To do this, undergo an extensive bike fitting in which the various options and dimensions of the bicycle are discussed in detail. Enthusiastic thinking along and clear understanding of the business, while protecting against purchasing the wrong size crank/stem for my intended use. Frequently informed during the production process about progress and expected end date. Perfectly adjusted when picked up (certainly not self-evident).
After breaking in, the seatpost turned out to be too short for my taste. Received a new seat post for free (!) up to 2 times.
Rarely have I seen a bicycle mechanic with remarkable expertise and who takes service so seriously. With head and shoulders above the various bicycle repair shops that I have had the pleasure of experiencing so far. Highly recommended!

Came here a year ago to drop off two bikes and was scolded by an irritated and angry employee for not having made an appointment, who after having complained loudly to everyone about my idiocy sent me away. Prior to my visit I had checked the website but nothing of an appointment being necessary was clearly on there.
Now of course a bike shop may decide to use appointments if they like, but it is pretty unusual. Most shops have a first come first served method and will just politely tell you if they can't help you if they're full. Sadly politeness is not something I experienced here.
I have no idea about the quality of the services provided, they might be good. You just have to risk getting yelled at first.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As customer oriented as a flat tire. These guys ordered the wrong rim for my frame (wrong hub size) and told me I could still fit it by bending out my frame a bit. I tried this out, but promptly found out the frame didn't hold the wheel in place, despite a serrated spacer and a tightly wound skewer. The wheel kept pushing into the frame after a few meters of cycling. Returned to the store and was met with skepticism, blame and zero understanding. Got only part of what I paid refunded. A nice looking shop at first, but an absolute waste of time if you're looking for service.
