De Kaaij zoals we 'm kennen is eindelijk weer terug!
Vrijdag 24 juni gaan we van start met Tuxedo Buck & Thee Andrew Surfers
Grappig, hoe een spontaan idee in korte tijd kan uitgroeien tot een cultureel terras waar half Nijmegen naar uitkijkt. En ver daarbuiten….
Het begon in 2011 met een klein rood vrachtwagentje en een uitklapbar, meer was het niet. Een paar liedjes, kopje koffie aan boord, wat mensen die even bleven staan. Misschien is het de plek hier aan het water en onder de brug maar het werd elk jaar drukker en gezelliger. Enthousiaste muzikanten, schilders, kunstenaars sloten zich aan en kwamen met het ene idee na het andere. Iedereen had er zin in. Hier midden in de stad aan de Waal zelf gaan doen waarvoor je anders een eind moet reizen. Ons eigen terras in de achtertuin.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Place right at the border of the city, behond society where everything is possible. Hosting food trucks and bars during the 4daagse of Nijmegen in July, de Kaaij is a place to relax in front of the water. There is a beach where to sit, and play some games with friends or the kids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a serene location that helps you slow down your fast paced life. My friends and I were visiting nijmegen and chanced upon this location by accident. We just took a stroll and sat down on one of the Dock facing chairs at the Riverside. It's a good place to chill and just enjoy being in the moment. There are a few restaurants and bars that provide refreshments and so if you crave a snack or want a cocktail to sip in the evening sun you know you won't be unhappy. All in all a good place to go to and hang out with family or friends. Actually a great place to hang out with just your self too.

Situated below the Waal bridge, just next to the shores of the river Waal. Also, I loved the craft beers served in luxury beer glasses

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We go there nearly every evening although we have more than 70 kilometers to ride. It is the "sfer" there ... and the people to meet ... and the river Waal ... and the ships we like to see rolling up and down the river and anchoring in the little harbour.
