De Maasparel - Hotel & Restaurant - Schans 3/5

Great stay in this hotel, lovely food in the restaurant and very tasty beer. Clean room and attentive service, maybe a bit cold due to high standards (we were in more casual mood). Would stay here again, recommended! P. S. Arrive earlier not just for the night - there is an estate house and water mill, lovely area.

Such a disappointment this hotel. They give preference to their own system and put the guests in a second position. We just traveled through middle Europe and in every hotel in Germany, Austria, Czechia etc, the out check time is 12, and sometimes you can request to have a late check out. For us this was not necessary but we assumed the out check time was 12. However it appeared to be 11. My friend was not ready but had to hurry up and leave the hotelroom at 11:20 because they wanted to start their cleaning program with our room with the number 1. My friend suggested them to already start cleaning while he was re-arranging the suitcase and stuff but they forced him to first immediate check out and pay, because their system didn't slow them to clean before the official check out. No apologies, highly unfriendly behavior. The hotel itself was ok, although the room was quite small and the double bed consisted of two single beds of which the mattresses constantly 'flow' from each other. The breakfast is a bit limited in choice, if you consider the price of $15-$16 (and if you compare it to the large breakfast choices in hotels in Germany for instance for roughly the same price or cheaper). I would have given the hotel a 3* or a 4* but the huge disappointment about their stubborn systematic, customer unfriendly approach spoiled our mood completely

Enjoyable large room. Homely vibe. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Most of the staff can communicate in English. Breakfast is good and the staff are very friendly. They also have a laundry service. The restaurant is good and the waitrons are very respondent. I would definitely return here.

The food took very long to arrive and when it did some of it was cold. The waitress was not apoligetic.

Really frustrated, they canceled our room in 4 days to arrival!!! All plans are crushed :(

Very nice and clean Hotel, very friendly staff.

To the attention of the restaurant: Last night my son's burger arrived exactly 1 hour after the order was placed, and was ice cold, plus the bread part was rigid hard, which implies me it was microwaved, still was cold when placed in front of him. We were told that the kitchen is busy because of the lightshow at the park – the only problem is that we got this info after we complained about the long wait, not before or when we ordered. Had we but known, would have had a chance to look for another place to dine. Such a shame as otherwise the place looked charming.
