Doordat het grondwater dicht tegen de oppervlakte aan zit was dit gebied niet geschikt als landbouwgrond. Dit natte natuurgebied is geschikt voor weide-en watervogels en amfibieën (o.a. alpenwatersalamander en poelkikker). Aan één van de plassen is een kunstwand aangelegd die broedgelegenheid biedt voor de ijsvogel of oeverzwaluw. Peaceful nature preserve with bird lookout Mumbles A swampy area of 46 hectares that is much lower than its surroundings. Because the groundwater is close to the surface, this area was not suitable as agricultural land. This wet nature reserve is suitable for meadow and water birds and amphibians (eg alpine salamander and pond frog). An artificial wall has been laid out on one of the ponds, offering breeding grounds for the kingfisher or sand martin.

Although it's hard to get lost a detailed map or tracking app can be helpful to explore the area. Lots of birds and potentially some free roaming cows on the trail.
