J	Joke van Beek on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prachtige grote molen, waarin op 3 plaatsen tegelijk bomen verzaagd kunnen worden. Er wordt ook werkelijk gezaagd, mits er voldoende wind is, en vriendelijk uitleg gegeven over het werk en de producten. Onder de molen ligt het gezaagde hout te drogen, in het haventje liggen de stammen in het water. Werkelijk prachtig om te zien. Binnen kun je op 3 niveaus de molen bekijken en je kunt boven ook even naar buiten lopen. Prachtig dit eeuwenoude ambacht!! Beautiful large mill, in which trees can be sawn in 3 places at the same time. There is actually sawing, provided there is sufficient wind, and friendly explanations are given about the work and the products. Under the mill the sawn wood is drying, in the harbor the logs are in the water. Truly beautiful to see. Inside you can view the mill on 3 levels and you can also walk outside for a while. Beautiful this ancient craft!!

Zeer aardige mensen die graag uitleggen hoe alles werkt. It is special to see the sawmill in full operation. And no matter how cleverly the power of the mill is used for the supply and removal of the large logs. Very nice people who are happy to explain how everything works.
J	Johan Hoekstra on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Indrukwekkend molencomplex: honderdvijftig jaar geleden in De Zaan compleet gedemonteerd en hier in IJlst weer in elkaar gezet (een soort Ikea-avant-la-lettre?). Deel aan het water om de stammen voor te bereiden (te wateren), een droogschuur, brede stenen opbouw, daarboven de grote door de wind en de wieken aangedreven zaaginstallatie. Machtig mooi om te zien als alles in bedrijf is, ook al moet je een paar smalle trapjes op. Zeer de moeite waard! Impressive windmill complex: completely disassembled one hundred and fifty years ago in De Zaan and reassembled here in IJlst (a kind of Ikea-avant-la-lettre?). Share in the water to prepare (water) the logs, a drying shed, wide stone construction, above which the large wind and blade driven saw installation. Beautiful to see when everything is in operation, even if you have to climb a few narrow steps. Well worth it!
