Neben der Stadt Middelburg gehören auch noch die Orte Arnemuiden, St. Laurens sowie Nieuw- und St. Joosland zur Gemeinde Middelburg. Middelburg ist insgesamt eine sehr schöne Stadt. Als wir da waren, hat es uns sehr gefallen. Die älteste der 4 noch erhaltenen Mühlen der Stadt Middelburg ist De Seismolen aus dem Jahre 1728. Die Gegend hier ist wunderschön. Sie steht auf dem Seisbolwerk und ist nach der Restaurierung im Jahre 2000 wieder voll funktionsfähig. Die umlaufende Galerie ist in 8,6 Meter Höhe angebracht. Die Mühle steht zwischen Bäumen auf der Umwallung. Es ist eine sehr schöne Gegend. Middelburg is the capital of the Dutch province of Zeeland. The city is located on the peninsula Walcheren. Aunque su función principal ha caído en desuso, hay que reconocer el esfuerzo que se hace en Holanda por mantener estas construcciones. Agradable lugar.
