About De Toverboom

β β β β β I first registered my son in another kindergarten with an horizontal group and could see, just from adaptation day, that it was not going to work. Lucas is a demanding baby, he fights sleep (needs white noise and rocking) and only sleeps if he is being held. He also wants attention to play. In that day, he slept 5 minutes, he would not play on his own at all. I took him home that day and he was a wreck! Kindergarten said they can't give him full attention, there are more babies, but that he would "adapt". I read between the lines that he would be crying for attention and not sleeping, so my heart sank... I could not do this! I was looking for a solution when I found de Toverboom. A kindergarten using a draagdoek? No crying policy? I immediately signed up! Femke and her interns and volunteers take care of my son's individual needs without judgement - baby wear while vacuuming for him to sleep? Holding him while he sleeps? Paced bottle feeding to protect breastfeeding? Popping by to breastfeed my son anytime? Super sweet vertical group that loves to play with babies? Check, check, check, check! Femke also sends some pictures throughout the day and makes me feel sooo included in my son's day. I really could not be happier and I have zero anxiety about leaving my son here - this is a loving environment and there is great respect for every child's specific needs! Femke, I wish you lots of success and that you can take care of Lucas for the years to come!

β β β β β We really like de Toverboom!
State of mind (organic food, wooden toys...), good reviews and a good feeling when we met Femke for the first time and visited the place have seduced us. So we decided to choose this daycare and we don't regret our choice!
First, Femke and her team are really nice and friendly. They listen to parent wishes, don't let the kids cry, carry them all day long if needed. Then they play with them, doing a lot of activities inside as well as outside. I think they are taking good care of the kids. And we also love that the kids can play all together, from few months to 4 years old. They learn a lot from each other. It's like a big family!
Our mini is there for 3 months now and he seems to have a good time; he's only 7 months so he doesn't say anything but he is always very smily and happy when we arrive.
I definitly recommend this daycare!

β β β β β The daycare is small and cosy, which allows for the family-like feel. Kids are treated as individuals and get a lot of attention for warm and engaged caregivers. Healthy food with hot meals every day is just the cherry on top. Highly recommended!

β β β β β My son is going into de Toverboom now for over a year and he enjoys it a lot! For me itΒ΄s a huge relief to have found a daycare where I can see him happy when I pick him up.
A few things that were important to me when choosing the daycare was that the daycare is flexible, because my schedule changes every few months. It was also very important to me that I can take only half days. The teachers are all very nice and sensitive to the children and their needs!! ItΒ΄s a small daycare which makes for a nice environment, more personal and not too loud or busy. And there are warm meals everyday :)

β β β β β Great daycare with sensitive people working there.
We really appreciate all the effort they put (and keep putting) into helping our daughter to adjust to a new environment. For already adjusted they keep it safe, fun and exciting. I had a chance to stay for a half a day and watch everything, I can say that kids are enjoying it a lot.
Great facilities, outdoor playground is big and sunny with some trees, slide and sandbox. Plenty of room inside too.
Warm lunch is just great! Varios healthy meals prepared from scratch: veggie wraps, lentil soup, fish and boiled potato, pesto pasta with broccoli just to name a few. It's really healthy and also tasty - kids love it.
Thanks to Femke & the Team!
Looking forward to continue in September.

β β β β β Hi all to whom this info might be useful! What we liked in Toverboom is that they informed us in advance about their philosophy (unconditional parenting) and asked us to think if this is what we want for our son. Second, there is a lot of communication going on and it is obvious that the staff does their best. It is not perfect every day but it is nor either at home β he does not sleep as much as we want even at home, for example. My measuring stick is if the child is relaxed when we leave him there in the morning. He does not fear the place so it should be good. I recommend the place highly.

β β β β β We absolutely love Toverboom. Having our child born in the peak of the pandemic, we had a chance to keep her home with us a little longer which was nice, but made her adjustment a bit difficult as she joined at the age of 13 months without understanding or speaking any Dutch. Even though it hasn't been easy for anyone at that stage, Femke and her team of wonderful, caring, warm ladies made our child feel loved, welcome and well taken care of at all times. Eventually she got used to it and started really enjoying herself. Thanks Femke and the team....good job everyone!
