About DepoClaim
DepoClaim originated from an alliance between a law student and a student real estate. Meanwhile, DepoClaim exists almost two years and found the niche in the market. DepoClaim considers international students, but also expats and Dutch tenants as their satisfied customers. The goal of DepoClaim? Making the Dutch housing market a little bit fairer and more honest. DepoClaim does so by reclaiming what's rightfully yours!

Therefore DepoClaim knows the struggles and the emotions that go along with the legal process. This is why DepoClaim can offer a customer oriented service. Therefore, when part of my deposit that was withheld, I started browsing all of the expat website on the Dutch tenant law that indicated it was possibly withheld illegitimately and surprise, surprise – the landlord didn’t want to go easy on me. So, what now? Well, to start with I was told by the legal advice from my university that fighting for it might not be worth it (legal cost being possibly equal or higher than the deposit itself). I was just going to give up and accept the loss of money until I found Depoclaim, which dealt with my case immediately and in a very informative and friendly way. I got the rest of the deposit a month later! I am extremely happy that we were able to bring some justice and maybe, save another tenant some trouble in the future. It was a pleasure, Depoclaim! :)

The housing market in the Netherlands can be hell to navigate and a lot of landlords take advantage of unaware tenants. I was in a situation where my deposit was withheld from me without any valid reason. After months of trying to get it back on my own, I stumbled upon this agency whom helped me recover the full amount. It is an excellent way to avoid going to court and paying the numerous fees in advance. DepoClaim takes care of all the legal procedure and gets paid as a percentage of the recovered amount. My deposit was €1500 and I had a hard time finding a lawyer who charged less than this to take legal action on the landlord for not returning it. DepoClaim agreed to take on my case with a no win no fee basis, asking for a fee of 30% of what I got back if we win. They were professional and informative, and I would recommend contacting them if your landlord is witholding your rental deposit.
