I had 3 nights booked at this hotel and when my flight was cancelled by KLM I phoned the hotel from Canada and advised what had happened, they said they would assist in regards to a refund. Now they refuse to refund anything, not even a partial refund. Highly do not recommend this hotel.

Hotel staff was friendly, the rooms and hotel was clean. They made sure that the room was made available for an early check in. The hotel is centrally located and is easy to walk distance to a lot. Extra plus, adjacent to a facility for covid testing. A little street noise and did not like that people were smoking right by the entrance.

Great hΓ΄tel, location is amazing as it's in the center but not where the party is so you can sleep without trouble and enjoy this beautiful 'Venise' of the north ! No room service in the hotel but you'll find everything at the corner and all food in the city which is very very close ! Awesome ??

Great location, everything is in a short walk range. Seems like it was recently renovated so rooms are nice. Staff members were very kind. Did not try the restaurant.

My flight was cancelled due to the abnormal weather that weekend. At first when the flight was just delayed I called the hotel immediately when I was notified by the airline. Unfortunately I was informed reservations was closed, so I sent an email instead informing them I would not be arriving Friday, and my new arrival would be Saturday. I received a response in the morning saying this is not an issue and they apologized the weather was causing me travel issues. Later that day my flight was fully cancelled due to weather. I then contacted the hotel again to inform them. I contacted them via email and phone. I explained the situation and attempted to get a refund as I fully prepaid the entire stay. I was informed I could not be refunded anything indespite the fact the cancelation was out of my control. I was never offered alternate dates to stay, partial refunds, or any kind of customer service / guest relations assistance in the situation. I was very polite in the emails and the first 3 times I called. I was met with blunt unapologetic answers of No. With no alternatives or attempts to even see if the situation may warrant a special circumstance. As I planned to come back to Amstersam for my vacation still I would have assumed the hotel would atleast try to keep me happy enough to book with them again for the next attempt. The 3rd party booking company that I booked the hotel through reached out to them as well on my behalf. They were denied as well. I paid full price for 3 nights at a hotel and I never even made it to the country.

Everything from location to room size and staff behavior about this historic hotel is good except the shower area of bathroom, I am not rating it 5 star just because there is no place or provision to keep toiletries in shower area. Would definitely book this hotel on my next trip to the city.

I understand that there is a no-refund policy, however, due to the entire country being on lockdown, I believe that the decent thing to do is to refund people who are no longer traveling for that reason. Why would travelers visit if there is a lockdown? A hotel should not only want guests to have a good experience in their hotel - they should consider the guests overall experience. So you want me to visit while you're on lockdown so I can buy food from a grocery store or restaurant and eat it in the hotel and basically have nothing to do? Furthermore, I bought tickets to two museums and they had the common decency to send me an email about the lockdown and are refunding my ticket. This hotel didn't even send out an email with an announcement of whether they would remain open or not so basically I was left hanging. Are you open/closed? Guests traveling from far away need to know! I had to write them twice asking to consider my refund request, but they didn't budge. I believe common hospitality would mean giving people their money back due to a lockdown, which our hotel in Austria did even before we asked. Yes, it's my fault that I travelled during a pandemic and there are new rules in place that you can't get a refund for Corona-related reasons, but if other establishments are willing to do that without me even requesting it, I'd expect the same courtesy from a "4-star" hotel.

the hotel it was just ok, but considering in the heart of Amsterdam, this is the room size you get. At the day of check out,, I had to paid 110+ euros tourist tax for my 10 days stay. I have stayed all over Europe this is the first country i have to pay for such expensive tourist tax. The food in the hotel restaurant is very good, but the "waiter" you probably have to bride about Korean products to get your ticket or she'll just purposely ignore you and let you hanging there waiting endlessly for your bill even after you told her "would like to get my check please " ???
