Nice pet shop with a variety of items. While my wife was picking up do food with our dog the store had somebody there taking pet portraits for free. The pictures turned out great and we now have beautiful full-wall portraits of our beloved dog. One for every room! What a day that was, indeed. We also picked up an elevated dog bed that our dog refuses to get off of. She’s such a goof.

Nice shop and people. We buy all our guppies food and supplements here.

I got a zebra finch from there as a company for the other bird I've already had. The lady in the shop didn't even check out if the female is healthy. When I got back home while letting her out of box I've noticed she is hurt below her wing... She didn't fly, she didn't want to eat or drink and she completely ignored the other bird. After a few days she died. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

I do not recommend this place with all my heart, the service is not pleasant, I lie straight in the eyes, he deceives people with orders for the product. The elderly man works there you are not nice not nice he yells at people and curses in front of children.they give out injured birds without informing the other person the products are incomplete they do not deserve even one star but without a star you will not give an opinion.

I like the store, but am very saddened and disappointed by the living conditions of the hamsters and the lack of proper hamster supplies. I sincerely hope this review is seen and that the owners will stock up on more hamster friendly stuff and improve the living conditions of their hamsters. A petshop has a very big influence on proper pet ownership and care by the people shopping there. I really hope Pretoria takes their responsibility on that part and help support the pet owners to care properly for their loved pets. The hamsters live in a very small terrarium, way too small for them to thrive in. They also have no proper type of bedding in the cage, instead they're living on a thin layer of straw pellets. I would highly suggest using proper hamster bedding. The wheels are the worst offender, they are very unsafe rusty metal wire wheels that have been proven to be damaging to the poor hamsters. They are also way too small for the animals. Please replace the wheels with actual proper hamster sized wheels. I cannot in good conscience support the shop by buying a hamster here. It would not be rescuing the hamster, it would be making space for another hamster to undergo the same abuse. Please owners of Pretoria, invest in an evening of reading up on safe hamster keeping and make 2022 the year that makes me want to support your shop again. Add larger wheel sizes to your stock. 28cm diameter hamster wheels are the minimal size for Syrian hamsters. Reduce the amount of abusively small sized hamster cages you have in stock. Introduce bigger cages to your stock that meet the minimal size requirements for a hamster. Wish you a good 2022, and hopefully I can update my review in the near future to be a more positive review.
