About DigiBeet en Katten Cafe
Initiatiefnemer en eigenares van DB&K is Doenja Bobbeldijk. Na jarenlang in de IT te hebben gewerkt besloot Doenja om haar passie voor de digitale wereld te koppelen aan haar liefde voor katten en het begeleiden van mensen met een beperking. Zo ontstond het idee voor DB&K, het eerste kattencafé ter wereld waar mensen niet alleen terecht kunnen voor een authentieke kattenknuffel en een overheerlijke lunch, maar ook voor advies en reparatie bij problemen met hun laptop, tablet of mobiele telefoon.
Aan de Ritsevoort 20 in hartje Alkmaar vond Doenja de ideale plek om haar droom te verwezenlijken. Het pand is volledig omgebouwd tot een paradijselijke thuisomgeving voor 10 voormalige zwerfkatten. Hier kunnen bezoekers terecht voor de heerlijk huisgemaakt gebak, de beste tosti's in town, verse smoothies en sapjes en lekkere snacks. De katten zijn afkomstig uit Griekenland en zijn inmiddels volledig gewend aan hun nieuwe thuis in Alkmaar. Ze zijn nieuwsgierig, aanhankelijk en echte gezelschapsdieren.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Though some of the cats weren't as social as I would like, I was still very pleased. To my knowledge, all of the cats here are rescues which explains why some of them haven't completely warmed up to people yet. I really liked that the cats had a little outdoor area to play and get some sunlight.
Something I would like to see the next time I go there would be a little "meet the cats" area. I think it would be really nice to have pictures of the cats in frames somewhere with their name and a little description about them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff is lovely and helpful going above and beyond for the guests and the cats. The cats are clearly cared for and loved. I really liked the little binder with the cat photos, names and personalities, it's great to know how to interact with them and learn a bit about their past. Some have been saved from bad situations and live happy lives now at the cafe. It's a wonderful place to have delicious tea, cakes and tosti's and play with some of the friendliest cats who will get up in your face to be petted! You also won't leave empty handed if you spot the many cat-themed mugs, plates, bags and much more.
