β β β β β Not much to see, the place has a mildewy smell and for some reason one of cashiers thought my Museumkaart was fake. Ridiculous.

β β β β β The extra's available for kids (who enter for free) are great, but the meseum is small and for that the entrance fee for adults is pretty hefty

β β β β β Pretty museum, it's a bit expensive for its size but if you're into jewelry it's interesting. Visit the village too, Schoonhoven is very charming.

β β β β β I truly enjoyed my visit to this great museum of silversmiths after a long journey from Amsterdam via Tel Aviv . However , I was put off at the cafe as they ran me down to pay twice for a cup of coffee . I never did feel all that welcome in Dutch silver town , perhaps all Americans are set aside at a distance or maybe my appearance coming out of Israel. I spent hours looking over the great works of art and craftsmanship here and visit the clock factory just down the street- It was closed down but the gentleman welcome me in with delight and took some time to show me around even gave me Clock parts after finding out I was a graduate of Bowman School of Watchmaking. There are great shop here but prices are steep. In my mind very best of quality. My motherβs people are early Dutch. I casted a silver wrench bangle but it broke on the journey due to air bubbles in the casting it was repaired for near 90$ in town. I hope to return someday in better garments and enjoy a meal at a cafe. This museum should forever remain open and the place where silversmith gathering , from around the world.

β β β β β Very disappointed! It's more a shop than a museum. Small rooms with contemporary art, no history at all, the staff speaks English with problems. the "museum" has no map or guide. their workshops for children is - buy and do it yourself as you understand. Parking is a challenge, you don't understand where is it allowed to park unless you ask inside the museum. We just wasted time.

β β β β β We took a tour but it was uninspiring. What was told I could also read on the tablets that where there. Direct questions where avoided or "I dont know you should ask the artist downstairs". I did not get the feeling there was intrinsic motivation to learn more about silver other then was needed to give the tour.
Nevertheless the exposition was great and the artist downstairs working on an exposition was also good to talk with.
