★ ★ ★ ★ ★ “De Petrusschool heeft in april 2016 de eerste stappen gezet in de richting van een nieuw schoolplein. Het begon met het inventariseren van wensen en ideeën van kinderen en leerkrachten. Maar hoe ga je die wensen en ideeën een plaats geven in een mooi compleet pleinontwerp? Daarvoor kwamen we uit bij Eelco Koppelaar. Het is hem – in een fijne, nauwe en professionele samenwerking met de pleinwerkgroep – gelukt om een prachtig pleinontwerp te maken.
Het plein is nu – oktober 2017 – helemaal klaar. Het heeft in onze ogen een hoge speelwaarde en een mooie natuurlijke uitstraling met behoorlijk wat groen, zonder dat het een modder- of zandbende op het plein wordt. Dat was precies wat we wilden. Nu het plein af is, zien we de enorme verandering ook terug in het speelgedrag van de kinderen. Conflicten op het speelplein zijn sterk afgenomen en het spelplezier is enorm toegenomen. Kinderen zie je nu gebruik maken van het plein tot in alle uithoeken. Ook na schooltijd en in de avond zien we kinderen spelen op het plein. De reacties van ouders en buurtbewoners variëren van enthousiast tot bijzonder enthousiast. De duidelijke visie op spelen, de creatieve invulling van de ruimte, de heldere zonering, de fraaie natuurlijke uitstraling en het uitgekiende gebruik van materialen zijn voor het grootste deel ingegeven door Eelco. Zijn ontwerp ligt aan de basis van ons prachtige nieuwe schoolplein.
We vinden dit project supergeslaagd. Het team van de Petrusschool is op en top tevreden, maar vooral de kinderen zijn erg blij gemaakt met dit nieuwe schoolplein!”

“The Petrus School took the first steps towards a new schoolyard in April 2016. It started with an inventory of the wishes and ideas of children and teachers. But how are you going to give these wishes and ideas a place in a beautiful complete square design? That's why we ended up with Eelco Koppelaar. He succeeded - in a pleasant, close and professional collaboration with the square working group - to create a beautiful square design.
The square is now - October 2017 - completely finished. In our opinion, it has a high play value and a beautiful natural appearance with a lot of green, without becoming a mud or sand pile on the square. That was exactly what we wanted. Now that the square is finished, we can also see the enormous change in the playing behavior of the children. Conflicts on the playground have decreased significantly and the fun has increased enormously. You can now see children using the square in every corner. We also see children playing in the square after school and in the evening. The reactions of parents and local residents vary from enthusiastic to particularly enthusiastic. The clear vision of play, the creative interpretation of the space, the clear zoning, the beautiful natural appearance and the sophisticated use of materials are largely inspired by Eelco. His design is the basis of our beautiful new schoolyard.
We think this project is a great success. The Petrusschool team is very satisfied, but especially the children are very happy with this new schoolyard! ”
