★ ★ ★ ★ ★ De Roodnatkooi in Oud Alblas is een blauwgoedkooi en dateert van rond 1830. De eendenkooi ligt op 10 ha veenweidegebied met 1130 m afpalingsrecht en bevat vijf vangpijpen, waaronder twee vangpijpen van het Hollands type. De kooi is particulier bezit en wordt beheerd door kooiker Teunis de Vaal. In november 2009 is er in de Roodnatkooi, naast de huidige bemonstering, een onderzoek gestart waarbij de rol van vrij in de natuur levende wilde eenden in de verspreiding van vogelgriepvirussen en het effect van infectie op deze gastheer meer centraal staat. Dit project is onderdeel van het promotieonderzoek van Jacintha van Dijk, die verbonden is aan het Nederlands Instituut voor Ecologie (NIOO-KNAW) te Wageningen.
De eendenkooi is niet open voor publiek
 The Roodnatkooi in Oud Alblas is a blue goods cage and dates from around 1830. The duck decoy is located on 10 ha of peat meadow area with 1130 m of demolition rights and contains five catch pipes, including two catch pipes of the Dutch type. The cage is privately owned and managed by kooiker Teunis de Vaal. In addition to the current sampling, a study was started in November 2009 in the Roodnatkooi, focusing more on the role of wild ducks living freely in the wild in the spread of avian influenza viruses and the effect of infection on this host. This project is part of the PhD research of Jacintha van Dijk, who is affiliated with the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW) in Wageningen.
