★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just the best broodje kroket in the tourist area of A’dam. Also, if you really want to splurge, try the broodje hamburger. Very different than your usual hamburger as it is crispy and fried but quite good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So, I have been to this place 3 times now. and 2/3 times I have had pretty bad experience. I am not going to talk about service, as they have kinda taken a perspective of "pride" in being rude or how they call "Direct", but lets talk about food.
1. Bitterballens ... In my humble opinion they are salty. I have tried them 3 times, and twice I felt they were salted for someone with dead taste buds after a night of too much alcohol
2. Sandwiches.. I remember I was explaining to them how I wanted some sauce on the side for the pork cold cut sandwich, and the lady said "shame on you" to ask for sauce. But oh that sandwich was dry. It was like going to a strip club and being forced to get a dance with the ugliest one.. and having the lights on was my chosen punishment.
So in short, the place is old and people are firm believer in what they are doing is right.. but a bit of flexibility and change of opinion may help keep this place going for a long time.
Not going again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Van Dobben is the best known maker of the croquette in the Netherlands. It all starts in 1945. I love this place and if in Amsterdam and you want to try some dutch snacks do make it a point to go here. They also have vegetarian options and would recommend to go here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mind blowing croquets!! Definitely the best I have had! Comes in many different flavours- beef, veal, cheese and some others. The store is a very intense local experience. The staff generally do not really care about confused tourists and they work at lightning speed. Locals come in here to grab their quick snack or meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an authentic Broodje kroket tucked away in a small street in the middle of Amsterdam. We visited this restaurant on a Friday during the lunch rush and this place was packed full of locals grabbing a quick bite. The staff is super friendly and spoke perfect English. The sandwiches were small and cost around ~€3.50. We ended up ordering 5 sandwiches as they were small and very delicious. This is a great place to get a quick local meal as you’re exploring downtown Amsterdam.
*Note: we visited Nov 2021 and they do not take credit cards. We found this a little odd since many locations stopped receiving cash to avoid contact with COVID. It wasn’t a big deal for us, but something to definitely keep in mind if you’re relaying on credit cards to pay for your purchases around the city.
