Een nadeel is dat mensen deze route ( en hiermee ook de brug) vaak als sluiproute om de n279 vanuit veghel naar keldonk of visa versa te vermijden. Daar is het vaak druk. Je rijdt na (of voor) de brug over 60 wegen naast landerijen. Logisch dat er dan landbouwverkeer kan rijden. Men rijdt ook vaak harder dan 60 km wat daar is toegestaan. Er zitten veel onoverzichtelijke bochten in de weg waardoor je kan schrikken van een landbouw voertuig wat niets verkeert doet. De brug oversteek is niet gevaarlijk. Er kunnen alleen geen auto's tegelijk in tegenovergestelde richting de brug oversteken. Dit wordt dan ook geregeld door verkeerslichten. Wanneer je je daar aan houdt is er niets aan de hand. Sommige automobilisten willen niet wachten en rijden door dan is het vragen om problemen als een andere aan de overkant groen heeft. Wel is door oa deze sluiproute dit kruispunt niet meer bevorderlijk voor het verkeer wat op de n279 in de spits rijdt. Hierdoor langere wachttijden door het vele verkeer wat de brug over moet van of naar de n279. Hopelijk bedenkt de provincie een goede oplossing bij de verbreding die gaat komen en waarbij de omwonende niet de dupe worden van het The bridge between Keldonk and Zijtaart.
