They have setup a new building in the Hague with is quite a landmark.

You will be hard pressed to find a more professional, skilled and punctual group of scientists in this world.

Take your ID when you are visiting, enough parking space, security is quite strict, always register yourself at the reception at the entrance

Middle age software and bureaucrats without customers. After two month, 7 calls and about 10 emails to the European patent office I can tell you that their official slogan is absolutely wrong: "we support innovation and growth in Europe. " In the reality nobody of the first level call center was able to answer any simple question like what costs a European patent or which software should I use? I always had to wait for days to get a call back from a so-called expert who had no idea about best practice. It seems that this organization never had customers nor understands what customers want. I needed two expert calls to explain me that I have to use online filing 2.0 instead of CMS. Yes their web page shows 1000 details without any benefit nor real information they confirmed. They sent me a separate PDF because the web page that's not provide information what you need to install the system. The system comes with some smart card from middle age (state of art is a software authenticator like Google) and the driver is not supported in Windows 10. For the installation you need to two times to reset your PC, wait overnight and then you are going to have the chance to give yourself the admin rights because they are not doing it. Every modern conviction of software design or software processes is ignored by EPO. It seems they use software from the '80s to replace it with software from the '90s. Their service desk is so bad that they even don't measure how bad they are. Unbelievable. Do they get paid to make their customers escape to any other platform? Google and Amazon has five stars, Austria patent office three stars and EPO one star. If I would have to design the worst service organization of the world I would use EPO as model.
