β β β β β I had Finsulate installed in September 2019 on my boat (5 meter center console with 70hp Evinrude E-tec) that is moored year round in the lake of Zurich. After the first winter, the results are amazing. It requires a cleaning with a brush along the waterline every 2 to 3 weeks, but that's not a big deal. After brushing, it still looks new - no fading or peeling. There seems to be no fouling under the boat and performance is the same in April as it was when it was installed in September. At 3500 RPM, the speed is the same as before the Finsulate was installed (previously had International Ultra EU antifouling). So at wakeboard speeds you do not notice a difference. At WOT, the top speed is a bit reduced compared to before, but since I never really drive at WOT, that doesn't bother me. I am super satisfied and would definitely recommend this earth friendly solution to the poisonous antifouling paint dilemma. Great product! Installed by Boatanic in Switzerland who did a fantastic, professional installation.
Update: It's now October and the boat has been in the water with Finsulate for over a year. When the water was warmer over the summer, algae grew a bit faster on the sides, but was very easy to brush off. A quick brush around the boat once a week was enough and the best part is that after cleaning, it still looks new. Under the boat there was no fouling. I am super happy with this product.

β β β β β I have been deeply disappointed with the performance of Finsulate on our brand new 21 foot aluminum power boat. The idea that it was environmentally sound appealed greatly but after 4 months so much growth was present on the Finsulate-covered bottom that boat speed was significantly slowed. I tried in-water cleaning the large biomass off the bottom with a heavy plastic scraper but this proved unsuccessful. After pulling out the boat at 4 months and scraping vigorously for 2 hours it was mostly removed. It was more a pro growth agent than an anti fouling one. I had a smaller aluminum boat sitting next to it with no anti fouling treatment which had virtually no growth during the same period. .No acknowledgement of this failure came from the local Epic Wrap agent; worse still, the owner of Finsulate in Holland did not reply to emails. The product was a complete disaster and will be removed ASAP.
Boaters beware!!! Caveat Emptor.
There are many similar stories on line and in each instance there was no response from Finsulate when they experienced massive bottom growth on their Finsulate covered boat bottoms.
