It is nice to go to gym when its not too crowded and don't have to wait for free areas or machines which want to use

Communication with fit for free office ,is not possible per email..and they change you contribution without any communication

Worse customer service you can think of. Never open to customer feedback, just nods and says "I'll pass it on to management." - not ever taking your name or bothering to followup. Not allowed to wear a sweater hoody or sports cap because "previously someone stole something and we could not trace the thief". Never mind that you are a regular, you scan in at the front so you are on the system and if there were any cameras to start with and actual CCTV footage that worked - your face and color hoody or cap would be on the system in the event that you stole something - together with the scan in system and your personal details. Their response when asked abt that is: it's protocol, you can take it or leave it. Agressive and impolite. What "great" customer service. Guess the protocol for customer feedback is - don't take any. This attitude goes for everything else such as broken lockers, showers, crowded equipment placement etc. Overall just junk customer service. Highly recommend to not go to this gym. Go to one of their competitors instead.

I've been going to this Fit for Free in Haarlem for a good three years now. I've decided to write a new, comprehensive review. The gym has been refurbished in the second half of 2018. You do see that quite clearly - there are a bunch of new machines, hard wooden floor where it should be and soft rubber floor where it belongs. The machines are clean and of good quality. There are two pairs of each dumbbell weights. There are almost two of every weight exercise related machines. There's countless cardio machines - treadmills, bikes, all of it. There are regular free training sessions and an automated spinning section with a video coach. When a machine broke they fixed it quick - I have never seen a machine here out of order for longer than a couple of days. Where the refurbishment unfortunately didn't reach is the changing rooms and the toilets. Nothing horrible there but I hope they will eventually get them done. There is a coeducated sauna that can be used with the regular subscription. It does get busy on the floor at 7 on weekdays, but if you can make it before 6 or after 8 you are fine. It seems they have hired many more staff since I wrote my first review, they are a bit of a mixed bag. The three main categories are: 1, the regular guys that are there to work and help if you need it. 2, the ones who hate their job and hate you too. 3, the guys who use their job as Tinder. Talk to staff falling into the first category of you need anything done. At last the price - it is very reasonable, I am even inclined to call it cheap for what one gets. If they threw in free drinking water that I don't need to decant from the changing room tap I'd give them 6 stars.

The staff was very friendly. The first time I signed up thinks were a bit hectic and the request for a personal training schedule took a bit of effort to get arranged but overall I have to say going here has been a very enjoyable experience. Especially since it was my first time and I was pretty nervous, they were all very humble, helpful and positive.

A lot of different machines but few of the same so either you're lucky to find that specific machine available or you have to wait

One of the best gyms I’ve been to in the Netherlands. Even with a free sauna and steam room.

I really like this gym because it's big, has plenty of equipment, never too busy, lots of classes, a spinning room with TV classes on rotation, and nice staff. Shout out to Mike for being awesome. They have great covid safe practices with lots of disinfectant around. And a river view. All for a fair price. Plenty of people of all ages.
