β β β β β Good location in Hellendoorn. They serve tasty bok beer in the hotel bar which is open until 10/11pm. The rooms are always clean. It's good value for money and comes with breakfast included. Some of the rooms which have been recently renovated are much nicer than the back end older rooms. The restaurant is ok but there are better places to eat in Hellendoorn town, unless it's a Monday when all the restaurants are closed. Staff are very friendly.

β β β β β My husband and I found the hotel room to be very dull and dark with dark grey/black paintwork on the doors etc. and dark stripes on the walls. We were given twin beds and there was no way we could close the gap between the mattresses. The mattresses were far too soft. So no comfortable place to just sit on the bed. The beds were so very low, too low! When I was awake in the bed I felt all the time like I was rolling towards the edge of the mattress. The bedroom floor was uneven. It was nice to have a balcony, but there were no catches to hold the doors open and with the wind they kept banging against the outside bars on the balcony. The paintwork around the window frames on the outside was old and flaking, and underneath the balcony table it was awfully rusty and the table underside was separating and falling apart. I have photos of it. One of the bedside lights was broken, and the electrical socket in the bed headboard came out a bit whenever I pulled a plug out of it. we didn't pay very much for the room, but we were expecting much higher standards for a Dutch hotel.

β β β β β A good hotel just (a tad formal) located on the outline of a small village. Shops, bars, walking, cycling etc. All are close to or maybe a 10 minute drive away.
Staff was very helpful, nice and welcoming.
Bathroom inside our room wasn't that clean, and no joint beds.
We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant. A big thumbs up for the chef.
It was a pleasant stay.
